A face to match my bright-yellow bridesmaid dress

One of my best friends has asked me to be her bridesmaid, and while I'm stoked about it, the dress is really unflattering on me. It's yellow, like canary yellow or corn on the cob if you prefer. And my complexion is a fairly yellow-toned NC 30, Asian with dark-dark brown hair.

Now I'm at a loss on what sort of colours to use on my face. If the dress were anything but yellow, I would've done a neutral brown-eyes, peach-cheeks look. But I've tried that and I just look so washed out

I could really use some suggestions for a look that would work!

Well I was going to suggest browns, bronzes, and golds, but if those don't work, I don't really know what to suggest. Possibly an ivory color (Vanilla pm)? Maybe bronze cheeks might work better with the color of the dress than peach (or even something with a pinch of color).

I'd try using cool-toned pink on your cheeks to combat the yellow. I think you can still use browns, just try using a cool-toned brown, like Mothbrown, with a pale ivory or bone shimmer. The cool-toned brown will be a softer look and compliment the dress better than dark gray or black. I'd stick to a soft, cool-toned pink on your lips, too. Even if you have yellow-toned skin, I think you can find something that will work.

I think a sparkly white eye with thin black liner and a soft red glossy lip would be gorgeous with a bright yellow dress.

a neutral shimmer on the eye would look great, Nylon would be perfect and a slightly darker colour in the crease and false lashes really natural ones. A lipstick like angel a cool toned mid tone pink would be perfect on the lips xx

Thanks for all the suggestions!! You all are such a great help. Think I'll start experimenting with different looks every day next week, and see what works with the dress
