A lipgloss with hair in it???

I just received a holiday lipgloss set in a swap. It was supposed to be brand new and unused.

When I opened one of the glosses, there was a big black hair on the applicator. It looks like the hair was synthetic, but that didn't gross me out less.

What do you think? Even though she may have used the gloss one time, how on earth did the hair get in it? Or could it have been in production?

Have you ever tried anything like this?

That is gross. It looks like a synthetic hair to me too, because it's so thin.

I really doubt the hair got in there during production. They're so strict in the factory, to keep something like this from happening. Workers cover their hair and clothes and beard if they have one.

I'm afraid I don't believe the swapper when she says it was unused/unswatched.

eww thats gross contact the seller as soon as possible .. something tells me thats it was done on purpose .. i have long hair and i don't even know how something like that was to happen. Unless she took a string of her hair and wrapped around the applicator.

And i doubt it was done in production .

That is really gross. I agree with MissCrystal, that doesn't exactly look like something that just happened. Has the seller responded?

well that is a bit grim! yes please contact the seller and send it back. if you swapped for it you could always ask for another product or even some money for what you swapped for.

Thats a very strange and noticable place for a hair to get stuck. IDK how the person couldn't have noticed it. If they knew it was used you'd think they'd atleast open it up to sanitize the wand b4 shipping it.

You can't really sanitize a lipgloss, because as soon as the wand touches your lips, then goes back in, the whole product is "contaminated" for lack of a better word. So she may not have even bothered trying & just hoped she could pass it off as never used..

a couple of years ago, i bought a lipglass with black synthetic hair in it too, but it was directly from mac, so i know it was never opened. i wrote an email to complain, and they just sent me a replacement without explanation, so it might not be her fault. but i agree with everyone, you probably shouldn't use it
