6 blushes have just been depotted by my *husband*!
i'm a first time depotter, and i started with my eyeshadows, which i depotted pretty easily, as DH watched casually, first from the sofa across the room, then crouched down right next to me (ooh, fire! ooh, sharp objects!)
then i moved on to the blushes and was really struggling with my them, i couldn't even pry the plastic pans out of the pot, and he stopped pretending he wasn't interested, and begged me to let him try (i didn't want him wrecking my makeup) so i let him use the exacto knife to pry the plastic pans out, but i continued to melt the glue of the pan over the candle, and do all the other steps but he wanted to try the candle part too, so i let him do one, and then he wanted to peel the label from the pot by melting it and then he wanted to cut the magnets and well pretty soon he kinda gently moved me away from the towel and completely took over!!
so i just sat next to him, watched, holding my breath and kept reminding him that these were LE and i could NEVER buy them again and to BE CAREFUL OH MY GOD HONEY THAT IS TOO CLOSE...
we only half destroyed the first one but i knew from experience to do the permanent ones first (goodbye "pinch me") since i can always repurchase if necessary and only then, once in a rhythm, start with the LE ones. and now my sheertone shimmer duos (the pinkerpeach one, the golden kitty one etc as well as my beloved variety blush) are in a blush palette beautiful and completely unscathed!
anyway, i'm buying him lunch as a thank you! he had fun. except when he found out how much a blush costs. then he asked me, "wait, MAC is the most expensive makeup line, right?" and i kept my mouth shut. clearly, i will never reveal the price of my NARS, chanel, lancome or YSL blushes...
