O'Hare Airport Workers Say They Saw UFO

United Airlines Denies Incident

POSTED: 10:23 am EST January 2, 2007

Some United Airlines employees, some of them pilots, insist they saw a mysterious, saucer-shaped UFO hovering low over Chicago's O'Hare Airport last fall.
The Chicago Tribune reported that an object without lights was reported hovering over the terminal for several minutes before shooting up through the clouds. The paper said the workers are upset that their bosses and the government refuse to take them seriously. The workers reported that the saucerlike object left a hole in overcast skies after bolting through thick clouds with intense energy.
The Federal Aviation Administration acknowledged that a United supervisor had called the control tower at O'Hare, asking if anyone had spotted a spinning disc-shaped object. It said controllers didn't see anything, and a preliminary check of radar found nothing out of the ordinary. The FAA acknowledged the incident was reported, but it is not investigating. They're chalking it up to weather conditions.
United spokeswoman Megan McCarthy said company officials don't recall discussing any such incident from Nov. 7, but the paper said the incident was reported to the airline by as many as 12 of its own workers.
"To fly 7 million light years to O'Hare and then have to turn around and go home because your gate was occupied is simply unacceptable," said O'Hare controller and union official Craig Burzych.
The paper reported that the sighting happened 4:30 p.m., just before sunset.
The object was first noticed by a ramp worker for United, the National UFO Reporting Center told the Tribune
Some of the people who said they witnessed the incident were visibly shaken.
"I tend to be scientific by nature, and I don't understand why aliens would hover over a busy airport," a United mechanic who said he observed the metallic-looking object above Gate C17 told the Tribune. "But I know that what I saw and what a lot of other people saw stood out very clearly, and it definitely was not an [Earth] aircraft."
One United employee said a co-worker was "shaken" and "experienced some religious issues" over the sighting.
One manager for United told the paper that he ran outside his office after hearing a report of a UFO on an internal airline radio frequency.
"I stood outside in the gate area not knowing what to think, just trying to figure out what it was," he said. "I knew no one would make a false call like that. But if somebody was bouncing a weather balloon or something else over O'Hare, we had to stop it because it was in very close proximity to our flight operations."
The paper reported that all the witnesses to the event, who included several pilots, said they are certain that the object was not an airplane, helicopter, weather balloon or any other craft known to humans.

As Spock would say- Fascinating- but highly illogical.

Though I do believe that there is a chance for alien life forms-I also can't help but say- Hey-I've seen an episode of star trek similar to this before. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

In all seriousness-I love astronomy I love space I love stars but there is no way in hell there is some alien craft thats going to go buzzing around an airport- and if they are- then I sure as hell hope they help pay taxes and go through the same FAA flight regulations as we do :p

I heard about that. I'm ususally one to brush that kind of stuff off, but what sort of sticks out to me in this one is that they have a number of pilots and other highly trained official type people who claim to have seen it. Odd.

I live not too far away from O'Hare (well, about an hour north, but that's not too far to me!), and other cities around the area have been reporting UFO sightings, most notably Mukwanago up here in WI.

I still am probably about the biggest skeptic of this kind of stuff, but it's interesting how many people are claiming to have seen something strange. At any rate, I just find it hard to believe that if there is intelligent life out there, that they'd want to waste their time to come hover over a dirty city in the midwest.

Me too, I still can get myself all worked up into a froth of fear if I start thinking about aliens too much.

I totally agree, I believe there certainly can be, and probably is, life on other planets. I feel it would be selfish of us (humans in general) to think that with the infinity that is space, that we are the only ones who exist

I just think that if there is life elsewhere in the universe, it's probably too far away to get to us (and really, why would they want to waste the time and energy to come here, just to flatten shapes into farmer joe's field or to probe aunt sally?

)

But, I suppse I do believe in it all enough to freak myself out about it. Hehe!

I think there is life out there. I don't know that we'd recognize it, because it may not even have a physical form. I am, however, a bit reluctant to believe that life that can build a craft and travel to Earth has come here without making contact.

Sometimes.. I think .. what if there is another planet. exactly like earth, Except the people there are like.. 500 times more advanced in technology and stuff.. crraazzzyy . or what if they are 100 years behind the times. have they invented things differently ? man I could go on forever!

That's what gets me too the fact MANY people saw it but I almost wonder if it's one of those things- you know like how one person is really sick and suddenly the whole office starts to get the symptoms- Psychosematic?
Who knows.

I tend to agree that there may be life out there but I don't think and I am just not convinced that these people really saw what they say they saw. I guess in a way it's a matter of faith. Who knows?

Even though I'm skeptical that what they saw was a UFO (in the alien sense), I believe it definitely could be a UFO (in the Unidentified Flying Object) sense. I've seen things before that I couldn't identify, so I believe people when they see random things that startle them and make them wonder.

as my teacher told a student this morning who told her that there will be Alien invasion soon cos its cloudy outside (LOL) she said:

"There's no such thing as aliens, nor there will be any invasions any time soon. Aliens do not exist" she was so sincere, i couldnt help but laugh cos it was funny. well the boy do watch too many sci-fis

technically for me, there's no such thing as aliens or UFOs, people probs saw something else but thinks its the UFO.

omg that gave me chills haha. i'm such a chicken sh-t when it comes to things like this. ghosts, aliens, even really badly made horror films freak me out.

the fact that all those people saw it, many of them trained to actually fly an aircraft ... that gives me even more reason to freak out.

That's a really fascinating thing to think about! My little brain is just whirling with the ideas!

We always think of the stereotypical alien as more advanced than ourselves, but what if, in reality, extraterrestrial life is going through a dark ages type of thing? Ooooh, interesting!

I believe there's life out there in the universe somewhere. We can't be the only ones.

Still, I highly doubt any of them would be interested in coming all the way over here just to look at boring-ass Earth.

I'm not sure if it's for real, because I think the government would hush that down if they really thought it was a legit claim. I think the government would want to investigate and confirm that a) it was real and b) we'd be well equipped to handle the aliens, if they were threats. The panic alone is a good enough reason to keep it quiet if it were real.

I do believe there is other forms of life out there. Are they smarter than us? Maybe, but I'm not sure why we assume that they are. I think it's definitely possible that they're currently just looking and they would want to look; people on Earth are sending all sorts of things out in space to look around.

I've seen a UFO. It may or may not have been alien, but whatever...I still believe in aliens for the reason that it is selfish to think we are the only life in the ENTIRE UNIVERSE.

I was lying in bed and looking out my window, and all of a sudden this really bright light goes shooting across the night sky. It wasnt a shooting star, it didnt burn out at all or explode as things in the atmosphere tend to do unless they are designed for entry. It wasnt a satellite because it was moving waaaay to fast and was waaaay to bright (I have seen satellites before, thanks to Dad who is kinda into astronomy and drags us out for weird events like satellite passing or meteor showers or comets or lunar eclipses). It was moving really fast like it was propelled not just by gravity, and it wasnt a plane: there were no red flashy dots, it was moving waaaay to fast to be a plane and it was waaay to bright.

Therefore UFO, and therefore my boyfriend is jealous because he wants to see one. Haha

I saw one once.
I was at a park with a friend one evening eating some fast food. We saw an object move up over the trees in the distance. It had a strobing light on it. It went straight up in the air really high just hovering then it moved to a direct right angle and flew off really fast. It spooked us and we left.
I know there used to be an airforce base nearby, but it has recently closed. However this happened 7 years ago.

UFO's? Yes. Aliens from outerspace? Yes and No.

I think that the universe would be an awfuly big waste of space, to think that were the only planet with life. However. Believing in the randomness of life's orgins, it's possible that earth being the perfect planet, in the perfect universe, with the perfect sun, and the perfect planetary makeup, was a 1 in a infinity chance. So it's very possible that we are alone. As sad as that sounds.

I do however hope that we find life sometime somewhere. I just doubt it will be in my lifetime. But I would love to see how the religions of the world justify life from another planet. Would make for some interesting deep thought discussions!

LOL OMG I'm so going to hell for this but can you just imagine all the worlds religious leaders in ALL the religions: Christian, Muslim, Jew, Buddhism, Scientology etc when the aliens land and decide they want to talk to us and all of the sudden they are up there trying to convert them to whatever religion? ROFLMAO

I can just IMAGINE if it was like Spock (the Vulcan) and all these people are trying to convert him and all he does is raise his brow and go-"Fascinating"
