All MAC perfumes smell disgusting to me...

I recently bought and then immediately returned MV2 and Violetrix. The former smelled exactly like melted plastic, while the latter smelled exactly like old ladies, dried sweat and old food and all. I went to the counter to see if I wanted any other fragrances, but all of them smelled absolutely foul. Some of them would start off nicely, but there would be something persistently "off" about them...so I ended up exchanging for a Myth and Impassioned lipsticks and a Beige-ing shadestick, all of which are fabulous!
Is it just me? I don't believe that a wonderful company such as MAC would consistently make such awful fragrances, but in my experience, they do! Please help me see the other side....

I dont like MAC perfumes either, with the exception of turquatic, which is just OK. I dunno, I'm not all that suprised that they suck as bad as they do. I dont really think one company can do EVERYTHING well, even though they try. I cant say I really like ANY cosmetic companies perfumes, (estee lauder, clinique, etc..)

I Love MV3 but the others are gross. MV1 smells like fast food and MV2 smells like metal. I like the green and pink ones. But MV3 is the best. That's the black one, right? I love it.

I feel the same way. MAC perfumes smell awful, and they make me sneeze. I can usually handle most perfumes, but their perfumes always have that effect on me.

It sounds like a lot of people have issues with them, too, for one reason or another, but it could just be your body chemistry in combination with the ingredients of the fragrances.

Well, they smelled pretty awful straight from the bottle/sprayed in the air, but MV2 and Violetrix actually got a teensy bit better on me. That didn't change the fact that they made me want to puke, though. I can imagine that they might actually smell good on some people, since the fragrances aren't straight up, you know, poo-scented...but they just don't work for me in any context.

Turquatic is awesome, I love Pinkaura too. It's the perfect blend of sweet and a bit tangy.

I can't get into their perfumes either, including the older Hypersouk...my friend used to wear that ALL the time and I wanted to gag everytime I was around her! :crap:

dang I so know what you mean about their perfumes not smelling good! My cousin and I had gone to the MAC counter in CV so that way I could go and pick up some MSF's and we seen the perfume there. So we wanted to see how they smelled...awful!!! And the worst part of it was that she sprayed me with the perfume!!! It did not mix well with my Ralph at all...so I smelled kinda funny for the rest of the day

. That's ok though, I sprayed the one that smelled like burnt something on her...haha...

I love all the perfumes. I've worn MV2 for a while now and I always get compliments on it. On me, it dries down to a vanilla scent that is identical to the fragrance of MAC's lipsticks. I didn't realize so many people disliked them!

i have hated all of the MAC frangrances except for the now discontinued oils. i loved hypersouk.

i have and love mv3 - i get told it smells like a sugar cookie. i also love the creations body blend shower gel and lotion, although i can no longer find it b/c it was discontinued :-(

Isn't chemistry weird? I *love* MV2, it's my signature scent. (But then it dries down to a bourbony-vanilla on me that's pure sex from a bottle so I may be biased

I love turquatic! When I got it, it was when aN MA was applying foundation on my face, and she was wearing it on her wrist. I bought it right away! And my friend has Pinkaura, and it smells great on her.
