So, um, yeah.. I know Specktra has a few health professionals. I'd like to get opinions on a situation.

Hubby thinks it's a little odd posting for career advice on a makeup message board... but who cares!! LOL

I graduated from Pharmacy School in late May and was licensed in GA in August. This is my first "real" pharmacy job since graduation. So far my interest has been varied as far as what I want to do. Retail is not where I see myself being. I interviewed for a couple of positions in my new town. One was retail and the other is a hospital position. My dilemma is that now I'm starting to question whether or not I want to do a residency. I would love to. However, I can't make up my mind as to what my interests are. I'm a little scatterbrained in that I get into something and then just as quickly as I get interested, something else crosses my path and I'm wisked away by it. Lord, it's a wonder that I stayed organized enough to actually finish school!
There's an Clinical Oncology Pharmacy Resident position that seems interesting enough. I have to make my mind up rather quickly to get my info in since there are LOT of interested candidates.

I've had collegues that have done residencies and who have not. Some that have actually worked a retail position for a year, saved their money, then went onto a residency position. My concern about doing something like that is due to being afraid of making good money and then having to take a drastic pay cut. Also, opinions have been varied about whether or not is worth doing a residency.

If any of you lovely ladies have any feedback... pros, cons, experiences, please help me out.

i think you should go for the residency... you can always "go back" to dispensing if you want... having a residency will open up so many clinical opportunities as well as give you the chance to develop professionally.
