Generally you will not see MAC on promotion here unless it's a counter that is promoting as part of a store-wide sale. For example, here in Oxford where I live, our MAC counter is inside a Debenham's department store. Occasionally Debenhams will have 10% off cosmetics, or e.g. spend 25 pounds and get a 5 pound beauty voucher, or something like that, and it will apply to MAC also. (You could check the Debenhams Beauty Club website to find out if any offers are on, or else check other department stores that carry MAC like Selfridges). When I used to live in New Zealand, we did not see MAC discounted
ever, so I think it must be something that is individual to the country!
Also, if you're looking for any products that are not part of current collections, I would suggest visiting a Cosmetics Company Outlet while you're here, as they sell discounted MAC, and other products by Estee Lauder brands (e.g. Clinique). Actually there is one close to Oxford, in Bicester Village, so you can make a little bit of a sightseeing trip too
I'm not sure about ones in London, but there is a thread somewhere on CCOs in the UK that would probably tell you if there are any in London itself.
