Any military families here?

My husband has been throwing around the idea of re-enlisting. He was in the USMC when I met him in 2000, and he was honorably discharged in 2001 just before we got married. He got recalled in 2003 for about 3 months. Now, he is thinking about reenlisting, this time in the Army in Special Forces. Both of his brothers are active duty army. I am so nervous now because we have children. I am super close to my family, and I am worried about the effect on my mom especially. Does anyone know where I can find out about how much money we would be looking at? He would go in as an E-5, we are married, and have 2 children. I knowing housing allowances vary depending on location... Can someone tell me what is paid for by the military, and what we would be responsible for paying? i.e. Housing, medical, utilities, etc. What is the likelyhood of an enlistment bonus? If you are close to your family, how has it effected your relationship? Do you like military life? If you have children, how hard is it when your DH is deployed? Would you do it again if given the choice? And finally, what has been your favoriteduty station? TIA! Sorry for all the questions!

I come from a military family.. My husband was in the National Guard and was going to go airborne. I talked him out of it, since I was pregnant at the time. His dad is still in the army as a recruiter. The divorce rate for people in the military is extremely high, among the highest in the country. I'm so glad I talked him out of it. Today's world is just too dangerous and he's worth more than the life insurance policy. I have so many friends that went to Iraq that are now just totally screwed up.

My boyfriend is in the Army, he's got until 2008 when they wont own his soul anymore. He enlisted long before 9-11 happened, and for a logn time wanted to make a career of it...but he has been injured and kind of grew out of that state of mind I guess. He's been inactive for 2 years now and got the papers this weekend to go to Iraq. We're both a little freaked out about it. His dad wants him to stay in for 20 years and retire but he doesnt want to tour in Iraq every other year...he said he'd do it if it weren't war time, and he could choose what base he goes to, and he could take his family with him...
