Anyone else in the same situation as me?! =(

I live in central IL (Peoria to be exact) we have a macy's and everything and NO MAC! No store, no counter, no ANYTHING...

I first became obsessed with a $425 haul at the international mall in Tampa, FL (my ex lived there so I was there once a month at least).. so it was no problem buying mac whenever I wanted to when I was there.. but now that we are broken up (and have been for over a year).. i have NO WHERE to go for MAC! The closest one to me is in Oakbrook up by Chicago and with gas prices @ over $4 a gallon I cant even afford to make a trip up there to see all my faveorite stuff in person (let alone drag my 2 month old up there WITH me haha)

Anyone else in this situation? I have to order all my stuff online-- I DEPEND on swatches and youtube videos to see how things look and what they will look like in person when I get them.. its SO frustrating!!

Sorry for the long post, this is just reallllly starting to get to me! =( Im waiting for my next purchase to come in the mail on Wednesday and placing my next order a week from then... its just getting frustrating. I dont get WHY my macy's doesnt have a MAC counter!

My situation isn't as bad b/c I have a dillards counter that has mac but moving here from Arizona a year and a half ago was terrible...I had a few nordstroms and 2 mac stores all close by.....now its just dillards....I have Nordstrom and MAC store withdrawals...and not to be mean but the dillards artists at my counter aren't at all as good as my ones in AZ...the girls at the Scottsdale Fashion Square Nordstroms were AMAZING... I am jsut a mac addict and I feel like I know more that the ones at my counter here in Arkansas

I used to learn so much from the girls at the Nordies counter now I learn from you ladies on here...

At least my Macy's has a MAC counter, but it's still 45 minutes away... The closest MAC store is 1 1/2 hours away! I'm from California where there was MAC available just about anywhere, and now that I live in Michigan I have to drive everywhere to get it

Let me know if there are any products you want to see swatches of and I can do a video review/swatch of them. Here's my channel:

and website:

I hope you enjoy the goodies that you get though!

I don't have it as bad as you, but girrrrrl I feel your pain. I don't have a car or license, so I depend on other people for rides. My nearest MAC is about 30 minutes away. It is hard to find time with both of my jobs....nobody is worried about taking me to MAC, you know? So I used to only be able to get there by my boyfriend (we were always in that area so that was fine) But shortly after I got *into* MAC, we broke up.

I have been ordering most of my stuff online...it definetly does suck relying on swatches. But I am so thankful to have specktra...our swatches here are prettyyyy damn accurate. It sucks for things that you are picky about though...like I am getting ready to buy another slimshine and I just don't know which one to get because its hard to tell from the swatches.

Hang in there girly. Its hard out there for a MAC addict.

^^I agree.. thank God for the swatches and for specktra.. Im sucha bad mom- my baby is sitting here in his swing sucking on his hand and laughing @ the wall (easily amused I guess) while I spend the morning on specktra and MAC since I just realized it was 15% off + free shipping today.... AHHHHHHHHH!

Believe me it's hard when you learn about MAC online ( make Up Alley , Specktra) I'm In Tennessee we don't have a ton of stores around so I've never set foot in a store. I depend on the lovely ladies and their swatches. I live over and hour away from the nearest store... and I'm itching to get into one of them =)

Uhm.. I ADORE Arizona... My ex that lived in Tampa played pro baseball and I went to spring training w/ him 3 years in a row... I would literally drive to the mall EVERY DAY and sit in the parking lot after I dropped him off @ the baseball field @ 8 in the morning w/ my starbucks and a magazine and wait for the mall to open so I could go buy more stuff from MAC.. the MA's and I got to be REALLY CLOSE and one lady was even there every single year for 3 years and would look foward to me coming back.. as soon as the ballplayers got out there for ST she'd shoot me a text saying "When are you coming so I can do makeovers on you???" ... she'd do my makeup EVERY DAY for free and I'd just hang out @ the MAC counter for HOURS and put at least $100 on my CC every day.. she loved me, I loved her.. we loved MAC.. it was a great love affair. HAHA

My ex actually told his teammates while we were out in downtown tempe one night "I think my girlfriend is cheating on me with makeup."

There is only one MAC counter in my entire province, and it's about two and a half hours away... yeah, I've never been there. :p

I just order everything online, which is fine, but I'd like to be able to go to MAC and have my makeup done professionally for special occasions, like my graduation next year. It would also be awesome to go for a collection launch... but I really don't see a counter being put in my city, let alone a store, so I just have to wait on swatches then order. The package usually gets here within 5 days, so it's not a long wait.

I think I have it the worst so far. I have to go all the way to Tokyo to get to a MAC. It's a three hour TRAIN ride down, plus a half hour drive from my house to the nearest train station! AND It costs at least 30% more in Japan than in North America.
thmbdn.gif
This is why I usually stock up in foreign countries.

I rely on swatches for most things I buy, or I just take a chance on something that sounds nice. I've never hated 1 shade I've bought online either! It's really not that bad, there's sooooo much info on here too to help u choose.

Im basically in the same way (apart from across the globe) I can only get to a MAC counter!! of i go on a boat for 2/4 hours or take the plane which costs over £100 just to go and see MAC irl, which i hate id love to be able to go to a counter every week and ask the staff questions and get my bearing but i depend 100% on specktra on swatches, which colours to go for, what is best and on looks.

Adlersmommy22, I hear you! I live in Finland, and we have only one MAC counter in this whole country! Really. MAC came in Finland August 2007 so before purchasing was a way more difficult. You had to travel Estonia or Sweden if you wanted to have MAC, they were before nearest places for us. So now it’s easier that we have our own counter here in Finland too! :)

The counter is in our capital Helsinki. For those Finnish MAC fans who live in the capital area it is OK. But.. My hometown is over 500 kilometers away from Helsinki, nowadays when I’m studying in different city I live only 250 km from Helsinki. But still… Sometimes it is very annoying. I visit in our MAC counter in Helsinki every 3-4 moths. Sometimes more often if I have some reason to travel to our capital. And always I really wait that day! :) This department store in Helsinki which has our one&only MAC counter is called Stockmann, I quess it is some version of your Macy’s (smaller version of course but anyway). Stockmann has smaller cosmetic shops called “Stockmann beauty” all around in Finland altogether in 12 citys. So we who live further have also an opportunity to order stuff from Helsinki MAC counter to smaller citys. That is great! But sometimes I could swatch stuff before deciding which one to purchase and you cannot take part to collection launches etc. But still it is great that we have this one counter!

I feel everyone's pain- but Im glad im not the only one frustrated with the situation I'm in! I seriously want to start a petition to get MAC @ my macy's counter- I have a serious addiction and illness- I DREAM about going to MAC counters... the other night I dreampt I was @ one and I only had $14... It was the saddest thing in the world.. then I woke up @ 3AM and got on the website and placed an order to make up for my dream- $78... TAKE THAT, DREAM! HA!
