Hi Everyone,

So the Canadian winter is comming on, even thought its not particularly cold (as of yet, unlike LAST YEAR *record breaking feezing) my skin is still feeling the effects of the weather change.
I have combination skin that is quite intolerant and prone to breakouts and sensitivity. Right now I'm on the Clarisonic brush (has been for the past 2 months) and using the Korres wild rose cream. But my face is getting really unbalanced, both oily and dry at the same time. Its like the top layer of my skin has shrunk and its all crinkly and dry yet the bottom layer of skin is oily? I have no idea how to explain it but I keep on putting on moisturizer to try and relieve the dryness and flaking but to no avail.
Even my HG Nuxe dry oil is not cutting it. My face feels like dry crinkly parchment :'(

Tips? Tricks? Recommendation?
Thanks in advance lovelies

Hey!
Use cream base makeup!
No powders, no powder blusher either!
try and exfoliate a lil
but gently!!!!!
Make sure to apply loads of skincare!
Also try not to expose your face too much in the cold cause it tends to get a lil wrinkly/crinkly

I got that before I found my HG winter moisturizer. It's because it's only surface dryness but your skin type is oily. I use Curel intensive body moisturizer at night, lots of it and then just a little for the day. It doesn't break me out but I don't have acne prone skin either but the ingredients look okay to me. The only problem is you have to wait for it to completely sink in before applying makeup or it will ball up a lot so when I don't have time I just pat my face with paper towel after a couple of minutes after applying the moisturizer.

Aquaphor! Seriously. My skin was super patchy dry and tight, and no cream or even my loved jojoba oil would help. So I used aquaphor at night and my skin was back to normal in a relatively short amount of time. It didn't break me out. A little goes along way and it makes the best lip balm.

You can't wear this under makeup at all though, and it does have a greasy/ointment feeling. It took me a while to get over that aspect but I'm telling you, my skin got to a point where it fricking hurt to smile so I took the plunge. So, so happy I did.

Since your already a Korres fan I might try the Yogurt Moisturizer and Mask. They are super hella hydrating but they are formulated for oily and inbalanced skin so they really help to even things out. Sometimes I even sleep with the mask on in the areas that I am the most dry and in the morning my skin feels soooo much better!

I like to use olive oil warmed up in the palm of my hands. I find that helps me

. Remember that a little goes a long way!

I use Palmer's cocoa butter on the dry, scaly areas of my face...I also use it on my cuticles, hands, elbows...pretty much everywhere really...For the oily parts of my face, I use Mary Kay's Oil Control Lotion..Also, when washing your face, don't use hot water...try lukewarm instead...Hope that helps!

i've noticed that i have started to get dry patches of skin on my face.... so i break out my clarins hydraquench cream for very cold climates

it's a thicker more moisturising version of the cream i usually use (normal climates). i tend to wear the normal version during the day under my make up but use the thicker one at night. also i have a serum by clarins hydraquench range which is also good for dry skin. i apply this before the cream

Sunblock in winter is JUST as important as in summer!!

Regardless of how cold it is the sun is still f**king your skin nice and hard with UVA and UVB all year round.

It might be partly cold, but it's not just the cold making your skin dry.
