I dont know if this is the right section...

i might be flying to canada/america possibly end of august and im saving to buy most of my mac there. im thinking fix+, mixing medium pigments.
Just wondering that since airport checks are tight, will I be able to fly with those liquid products or will they be confiscated or shall I bother to buy alot of make up in the first place? Does the same go with duty free?

you can tell I havent flown since they became strict about it lol

so if anyone can help, it be greatly appreciated

if you decide to buy a lot of makeup, you have to put those makeup in your check-in luggage. i don't think the same goes for duty free. if you want to know, you can always call your local airport to find out.

if you do carry-on, all your liquids must be less than 3 oz each, and they all must fit in a quart-size ziploc bag.

your best bet is to securely pad everything (buy lots of bubble wrap) and check it (they throw shit around and stuff could easily break). that way you won't have to worry if something is allowable or not.

Check the liquids and gels, carry-on any solid products (like e/s or pressed powders . . . don't want them to get broken!)

I carried on all of my makeup. As long as the bottles are less than 3oz each and are all put in a 1qt ziplock bag you'll be fine. Most foundation bottles are only 1oz anyways, so they're definitely small enough to carry on

fix+ and all that might be too large though, but they should be fine in your checked baggage.

If you don't declare what you bought, you aren't taxed.
When I go to the US (since I live in Norway aka "Land of one mac counter and overpriced everything") I've bought pigments, shadows, foundation, etc.. and have never had a problem with tax on my MU.

About duty free stores, they will seal your product in a plastic bag you can not open until you arrive at your destination. That's about all there is to purchasing at those stores :p I only buy fragrance at them

I fly everywhere and I do not have any problems with my cosmetics.... I pack my items really tight in my luggage... but everything is in a carrying case inside my luggage.

If you can't carry on the liquids or you are afraid of breaking them, ship them ahead of you. Say, two days before you leave ship them to your house or a friends. As far as eyeshadows- i would bubble wrap them like crazy. And i would do a carry-on with them. Another sugesstion is to used a padded lunch box the put them in. Bubble wrap, and the lunch box should keep them from breaking.
