Honestly...I think you can absolutely pull off a dramatic brow. That's not really anything you should worry about. It's more the /shape/ of the dramatic brow. If I were the one shaping your brows... they're a little thick and heavy where they start toward your nose for my own taste.
If you follow the pencil rule, your brows should start right where the inside corner of your eye is. So...if you go up in a straight line from there, that's where the brow should begin. (I have a tendency to over-twease right here myself! And am currently growing them in a little...)
Second...they're just a little thick and square where they start, and that's probably what the person was seeing that struck them. Since you have room to play if you let the inside part of your brows grow in a bit...for now, you could use a pencil to fill in a little space and experiment with different shapes that your brow could terminate in (like rounding it off a bit...angling it one way or the other, etc). When you find a new shape you like, you can fill them in like that every day until the hair grows in to the new shape.
Another option (or you could do this in combination...) is to take a small amount off of the top inner corners at an angle toward your nose... so that the brow itself appears to angle back down toward the nose in the center, instead of ending in a straight up and down line.
You're blessed with thick beautiful brows...you're lucky you can play with them and make them into whatever you want! Right now, thicker brows are in, too, so you're ahead of the game.
I hope this helps! (and made sense...pm me with ?s if you need to...)
