are you ADDICTED TO MAC ?

My mom just pointed out to me the other day that I have a serious addiction to MAC Cosmetics and to the Limited Edition collections, she says it's a real addiction, I think she's right. Because yesterday PATTERNMAKER came out and I was about to explode when I couldn't go to the mall and even look at it, I was seriously very upset, like I couldn't resist.Last week was the same when Turquatic came out, I was going to explode like a firecracker that day because I had to take my dad to the airport, so I had to go on Friday instead and I got a high after I bought all the stuff I liked. But now I'm fine today and forgot all about rushing over to the mall to check out PATTERNMAKER. It's really odd, it's like someone who's addicted to drugs or drinking. I'm addicted to spending all my earnings on MAC, and it's very hard when I can't get the make up right away, I really get upset and feel withdrawn, does any one else have the same issue as I do ? Like your going to have a breakdown ?

Yes I am the exact same way (maybe even worse lol) the day Lure came out I was flying out of state for my sisters graduation and since I am a well known shopper the manager let me come in the night before it was released I was so stoked! It's nice to know there are people out there like me, that's why I like this site so much

no but seriously, i know what u mean and i agree with you.. my husband says the same thing about me when the le collections come out and i get a high from buying them!

yes, i am too.
my husband goofs on me about it all the time.

but I am like that with a lot of stuff. I like to collect- but the thrill is in obtaining the collectables.

now that i live in a very small space,my collections have shrunk(been sold off on ebay when i need $$.
mostly(coach bags,shoes,salt and pepper shakers,beanie babies,baby carriers,longaberger baskets,cloth diapers for my babies-oddly addictive!-there are actually hand dyed, organic, embroidered diapers that sell for over $100 a pop!)...jewelry-I had a thing for expensive watches there for a while gucci/tiffany...,hanna andersson clothes for my girls-I still have a thing for that- but it has a great resale value

-lots of high end baby/kids clothes& stuff...
anyway- makeup has been a constant in my life since i was very young.
MAC has been my fave since 94' and with b2m it is even more inviting.
ultimately though-it must appeal to me, I would never get something and keep it if it really does nothing for me and won't show up-then i sell it or trade it off.
thinning the stash is just as important to me as getting a shade that rocks on me.

and it is better than drugs,alcohol,sweets for ya! no one ever died from owning too much makeup

I almost explode when I can't get down to see the new stuff right away. Thank goodness all the girls at my local counter know me and put stuff away for me

I definitely have the rush when I buy stuff, and then the calm after the high of buying stuff. Absolutely addicted. We could be addicted to worse things though.

I'm addicted. My dad yells at me everytime a package comes in the mail for me, because he knows about my mac addiction..and he hates that I spend so much money on it. hahahah. oh well..he can bite me. LOL.

Am I a makeup junkie? For sure! Am I a MAC Addict? I wouldn't call myself that.

I have quite a bit of MAC in my makeup case, but I prefer other brands over MAC for several items.

I've never caught the LE fever. I think the only collection I rushed out to buy the day it came out was High Tea, and i feel like if an item sells out before i can buy it, something similar will come along soon (except for the Sweet Tea quad, I was so sad the first Macy's i went to didnt have it that my boyfriend went to 4 different Macy's in 4 different states to get it for me so that i wouldn't look so sad.)

I really love a lot of my MAC items, and I enjoy collecting the postcards and seeing the new products, and talking about MAC products, but I don't get that breathless excitement over MAC that i would expect a true MAC Addict to have.

I am a serious MAC addict, I buy from every collection unless I'm so broke my rent check will bounce, I usually buy 90% of the collection, even colors I know I won't like (partly because I know I can swap/sell them), and I visit this website like 900 times a day! But I would be that way even if it was another makeup brand and MAC didn't exist just cause I love makeup so much. I do it all day at work and then I come home and think about it the rest of the day too!

Yes, yes and yes.... I got addicted in a very short amount of time. Right now, I am trying to figure out how I can minimize my grocery list so I have extra money for all the mac stuff I want... Not good...

i've just come to the realization that i'm addicted. badly addicted.

my addiction started just after i had started cosmetology school. and i went to mac almost every week and "had" to buy something for my kit. it wasn't too bad in the beginning, but then i started liking things that came out in all the collections. i've probably spent close to $5000 on mac since december.

i just asked my boyfriend to not let me spend anything on make up for the next little while. i have too much stuff and i don't use most of it. and i don't need anything else.

but on a good note, after a muse i'm done. i hope

But to answer the question yes. I am addicted and do recognize the problem. I am not really a MUA, I don't wear a lot of makeup at all..just some powder, mascara and always always something on my lips but usually the same color or same color family YET I have over 70 l/g, prob 50 l/s and prob over 100 e/s. Not counting over $700 in brushes.

I was looking for a pink l/g to wear and had about 14 to choose from, a male friend of mine said it is sad when you have to go shopping in your own house.

addicted... possibly. my collection isn't all that big compared to others, probably because its not easily available to me. not to mention I don't care for lip products much, and just got into face products. but I do get that craving to just look at everything and play with it and see what it does even when I know. and I get that high of buying things I like. to top it off, I love to go home and look at things - rearrange my e/s, find different shape and size containers or methods of storage - ways to make everything easily accessible. but I don't touch anything nearly as much as I could be.
