The price kills me, too, but I really think they are. I use So Ceylon every other day so I've definitely gotten my money's worth out of it

What do they do? I've read the description on the website and it just doesn't sound very appealing. I'm imajining a metallic shiny finish on skin that on me personally would look horrible on.

They're like a highlighter buffing powder that is super fantastic! The metallic finish isn't shiny at all and it gives a nice all around glow.

Yabutt.... supposedly you really need the #187 brush @ $48.00 Cdn to get the best effect. So I think I'm going to get one s/f and the #187

Is the Porcelain Pink really pale pink? Or does it show up as a pinky glow on your cheeks? And is it worse or better as a highlighter than Benefit's Dandelion? I'm almost out of Dandelion, and the Skinfinish is cheaper than Dandelion.

Or should I just use my Pink Shimmerbrick instead of buying the Skinfinish?

I have waited all year for them to re-release this stuff. I use it a lot. 187 brush is definitely a MUST for it though. Without it, the look is too shimmery.

Porcelain Pink is a warm coral pink and it is barely noticeable- just a nice glow with a pink cast to it.

I think this stuff is one of the nicest products for the face I have tried in a long time.

You get a lot of product for the money too.

D'oh, I can't afford the 187 brush. Poo.

ETA: would it be too sparkley if I used a bigger Bronzer brush I have? It's goat hair, but it's not quite the same as the 187, it's quite fluffy, and a bit tapered at the tip, not as blunt looking as the 187.

ARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!

Just as I suspected. Oh well. I have a gift card that will pay for the brush at least. I hope I can restrain myself and only get Porcelain Pink (but who am I kidding?!) I know I will come out of there with Shimpagne and maybe even Stereo Rose ("Pure shimmering coral with golden/bronze nuances"... hmmmm... dunno yet)

I'm trying to tell myself that shimpagne is too cool for me, though the description is lovely! I've seen reviews where they say the glow is silvery though, and I'm not sure that would work for me. =(

Yep, they're worth it!!! They give such an incredible glow... If you don't have any, I'd suggest Porcelain Pink - it would look lovely on you!

I dont have the 187 brush and I dont think it goes on too shimmery....i guess it all depends on how much you load the brush. I just dont have the heart to spend 40 bucks on a brush...for that i can have 3 eyeshadows!

How does the glow you get with the skinfishes compare to that of a sheertone shimmer blush such as trace gold? Right now trace gold is my holy grail highlighter.

It definately gives off a gorgeous pinky glow! I have dandelion as well - and I prefer the skinfinish to it. And I also have the shimmerbrick - but that, to me is more shimmery.
Out of all three the porcelain pink wins, imo!

Personally, I don't think you need a special brush for these. Depending on the look I'm going for, I've used everything from my NARS Bronzer Brush to gwp powder brushes to my fingers and still loved the results. I was using So Ceylon, for reference.

I think it's all about the effect you're going for. If you don't want them to be too glowy, blow some product off the brush... You don't need to go out an buy a new brush.
