Awkward sounding combos that actually turn out fabulous?

I was swatching new colors and making little "face charts" tonight with some of my cosmetic junk, and I discovered a few GORGEOUS combos that would seem disgusting...

Electric Coral pigment, Amber Lights e/s and Sketch e/s...it sounds like it would look like BARF, but electric coral isn't as bright as it looks, it's very toned down and pretty sheer. However, my paler friends beware, this could look bruisy on very fair skin.

Motif, Humid, Femme Noir...doesn't that sound like a plate of poo? well it's not, it turned out beautiful when I put it on.

Coppering, Humid and Waternymph; the colors sound like they would totally clash, but no, they're quite lovely together

What a great idea for a thread! I am going to have to dig in my colors tomorrow and see how I can stretch the collection!

I used Cranberry and Freshwater together once, not too bad at all! Not sure i'd do it again though

^^That does seem really awkward! I swapped Freshwater cuz it was too cool for me, but when I did have it I put it with Chrome Yellow, Parfait Amour (AKA Barfait Amour) and Humid, and it looked very neat! even though that probably just sounds like skittles exploding on the eye, it was pretty lol

Pink Bronze and Sketch (with a little Old Gold or Green Brown to line under eye). HOT! I'm thinkting this would only work on browner skin.

Bright Side/Gallery Gal on the lid, Aquadisiac to line. It's using the same idea of putting Aquadisiac over New Weed - it looks unbelievably gorgeous. I'd take a pic of it but the colour comes out horrible on the camera so no one would believe me!

I have all three of those colors, but I've been using Humid and Waternymph a lot. And I keep sitting there for what seems like hours staring at Coppering wondering what the hell I should do with it. Anyway, How did you put them together? Inner V, middle and outer V would definitely be enough help. Thanks!

Ok this sounds wierd...mangomix s/s on lid, club e/s over mangomix and then hepcat e/s in crease and vanilla e/s to highlight, smolder e/k to line. It looks awesome! An MA was wearing this combo and I had to ask her what she had on I would have never guessed it was this!

Mancatcher - inner
Bronze - outer
Twillery (from Inventive quad) - upper lid (crease for those who have creased lids)

with a pale pink or gold highlight

I am wearing Mangomix Shadestick with Amber lights over that and then Gorgeous Gold over that. It's a BEAUTIFUL shade of gold that I can't believe I made. I love it. And Light Source Eyeshadow as a highlight.

My favorite everyday combo:

Dazzlelight - browbone
Sumptuous Olive - lid
Twinks - crease

Sounds weird but I love them together. Even my husband agreed!

NC15
Red Hair
Blue-Green eyes

I went for a Danse makeover this weekend and none of the colors were working well on me so I told Jack my fave MAC MA (or more accurately Jack the Magician as far as I am concerned LOL) that he could feel free to do what ever he wanted on me. He did a combo of Sharkskin and Stars and Rockets that was amazing. You would think it would look like someone gave this NC20 gal a black eye but it was gorgeous and made my green eyes really stand out.
