It depends on your hair type and what style you are trying to achieve. Before I flatiron my hair I use chi silk infusion oil to keep it hydrated and sleek look flatiron spray as I go along. My hair is chemically relaxed so I try to keep it as healthy looking as possible.

I use Biosilk Silk therapy (they have a generic value version which is a lot cheaper). Its a serum, and it makes my hair really smooth soft and shiny after flat ironing

whatever you decide to use, just don't use too much.

thanks for the help everyone. my hair is chemically relaxed as well, so moisture is always a problem ... i might look into the bio silk in generic brand, is that at sallys ? bc i know sallys carries a bunch of generic things

I use Redken Heat Glide. 2 pumps on my ends prior to heat styling and 1 pump after to add shine. Works great and lasts forever.

yes, they carry it at Sally's. and a much bigger bottle of it.

I've used Redken smooth down heat glide before too, and that worked good. Its really thick though. I think I was using too much of it.
