Backups vs. Originals

Today I bought a backup of Naked You. This time I actually asked for one that had less silver veining and was able to pick my own. It is even better than the first one. It has very little silver, the silver it has is localized to one area, and it has a nice amount of bronze/amber veining. I'm so happy.

Has anyone every bought a backup that was better than the original?

I have yet to buy a backup of anything due to the fact that I have only hit pan on 2 products in my 6 years of MAC collecting/wearing. As for my Naked You, I used a needle to gently scracth all the silver out- now it much better! I did the same for the gold veining in my Petticoat. The gliters they used this time around were much too chunky, in my opinion. Thats cool they let you pick ur own!!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought the new MSFs are too chunky/glittery. The colors are pretty, but I have to brush quite a bit off my cheeks to get the look I expect.

Whats the best way to put em on, without using the 187 brush and stuff. I mean like hows the best way to put em on using a regular powder brush?

You mean like the 129 brush? You can def. use that, but I'd advise using it with a light hand since its more dense than the 187.. try patting lightly and then w/o redipping, blend, blend, blend! hth

You know I really like putting on Petticoat and Stereo Rose with a skunk brush (187). But I would never use that for Naked You cuz all you're going to get in glitter, no color. I think a dense brush is better for that. I use a flat top bronzer brush. And it looks really nice. I have yet to try the other ones (Metal Rock, Gold Deposit, New Vegas) with the skunk though.

i would look into getting the 187 brush only because it was made specifically for the MSF and because of the way the skunk brush is shaped/made its best for that subtle color.

If you use the 129 brush, dont swirl it into the MSF too much cause you are either going to 1. get too much glitter or 2. get too much color. Like angela had suggested, start off with a little and blend it out.

I hear ya, the only one I continued to hit pan was Heavenly Bliss and I have 2 left - went on a mad spree as I love it and still do but I have learned that I can love others and will have to live without it one da ..soon and I stopped buying backups.

It was too much...as most of them I never use all of and I broke my rule when I got 2 So Ceylons and regret it. I hardly use it. But the hype got to me....

You'll have to do a FOTD when you get it!

Now that I think about it, that does seem like a great idea. It picks up more color, less sparkle. Thanks for the tip!

Im going today! Wish me luck!

If I get it I`ll do an MF0TD (MALE face of the day)!

I`ll try the thing Angela said. I want the 187 brush, but I dont have enough money for it! I`ll try it with the brush I have. Pat on lightly then BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEND!

One tip that I find works great for glittery MSFs is after you dip your brush, lightly blow on it to get rid of the glitter. Then all (or mostly all) you have is the colour!
