Hi everyone!
I'm new to the whole MAC es thing... I'm slowly building up my MAC collection and I'm trying to start off by building a 15 pan palette. Could you help with some colour suggestions, please?

I would like to have the following:
-Neutrals
-Enough es to create a smokey look
-Purples/violets
-Greens/olives

Not really a big fan of blue.

I'm considering: Juxt, Swimming, Humid, Nocturnelle, Trax, Carbon, Naked Lunch & Satin Taupe.

Thanks

The colors you already have in mind are super great starter colors!
Depending on what kind of smokey eye you want it could be a good idea to add a grey too? I like Scene

Silvers and golds can be fun to use in both dramatic and neutral looks so I'd suggest getting Silver Ring or Electra and Goldmine or Gorgeous Gold(a gold with a little green in it).
Woodwinked and Amber Lights are super pretty bronzey brown colors and seem to be pretty popular.
If you do a lot of neutral looks it'd be good to have a matte crease color but which one to choose depende on your skindtone

You've got a great selection already! I'd recommend to add to your list: Vanilla as a highlight, Sumptuous Olive, Sketch (plum - looks great with trax), Wedge (medium brown I use to blend), Corduroy (brown).

Add carbon or black tide, all that glitters, soft brown, espresso, and what the above posters said!
Also, if you search for eyeshadow recommendations, a bunch of threads will pop up.

definitely only buy colors that you will ACTUALLY use. and make sure YOU re-check what the artist rings up, because i know i have gone home with multiples of the same shadow before. so watch out for that... but definitely your basic colors (black, grey, yellow/white, green, blue, purple) and get a couple in-between. i can't tell you how many palettes i have that have not even been touched. sometimes you are drawn to colors, but you get home and you NEVER touch them. every penny counts nowadays! good luck and let us know what you come up with

IMO, Humid and Carbon are must for basic starter (I already saw that on your considering list)
