Be CAREFUL with your A Muse e/s Duo's and MSF's!

The MAC girls told me today that the A Muse eyeshadow duo's and MSF's are baked for 24 hours in Italy. Due to the "baked nature" they break very easily and are super fragile. When I opened my e/s duo up the top dome part was completely broken off, I had to return it. It was crumbling all over like crazy. Try not to transport these in your bags and be really careful not to drop it because it will for sure not be able to withstand the fall.

You are so right. My doggone Naked You began flaking off the first day I got and used it. It flakes off more and more everytime I try to apply it. None of my other mineralize products have given me any problems at all but I also don't transport them. Naked You is single-handedly the worst MAC product I own.

I hope that does'nt happen with the Shooting Star+Porcelain Pink I just got. I heard Naked You is not a popular choice due to the glitter in it. Does it scratch your face?

Maybe the glitter makes the Naked You MSF more fragile because it doesn't bake as well? I hope so because I want the PP MSF.

No, it doesn't scratch the face, at least mine never has.
It's just really OBVIOUS glitter as opposed to anything subtle.

Naked You has never scratched me. It is chunkier and more glittery than the others but it is still "soft" to the touch IMO.

Wow. Mine bash around unsecured in the bottom of my travelling case and have done so for a while, but I've never had an accident yet (touch wood).

I accidentally dropped Shimpagne once, but it didn't shatter. Stereo Rose, on the other hand, was dust. Luckily it was closed when it was dropped, so the powder was salvagable. I almost bawled when it shattered (and then when we discovered that downtown Macy's had a kajillion of them months and months later, bought two more).

My Naked You came in pre-broken thanks to the lack of bubble wrap when MAC shipped it out to me. They were very good about sending out a replacement (which was in bubble wrap this time). I am concerned though about the Shimpagne and Shooting Star I have coming in the mail from them though. I almost added a message to my order for them to please include bubble wrap in the package.
And my msfs never leave the house. Heck they never even leave my bedroom, poor lonely, little things.

Here's a tip for you -

Take a cotton ball and pull it apart slightly, making a flat cottony round shape. You can place that on top of the MSF before you close it (a smaller piece works well on the mineralized eyeshadows, too). This provides a little bit of padding and should help the product not to break.

This is especially useful if you travel with them...but wouldn't hurt for just everyday protection, as well.

MMF
