Be nice...

...Hi. I feel like *such* an amateur posting here.
But constructive criticism would be greatly appreciated.
A lot of my make-up is cheap crap, because I can't afford all MAC, but the MAC I have is absolutely freaking amazing, so I'll be buying more when I get the cash. [But I keep on spending my money on coffee & beer & clothes...]
I've not being doing extreme make-up for a while, but I always get compliments on it.

Here's what I've used.
Face
  • Max Factor Foudation (I don't remember exactly what it is, but don't worry, it's not that great. My skin's not too bad as it is, so mostly I just go without skin stuff completely.

Lips
  • Apricot lip balm from the Body Shop

Eyes
  • Light blue Barry M Dazzle Dust (I don't remember what shade, but I can go find out if you want)
  • MAC pigment Violet
  • MAC pigment Naval Blue
  • MAC pigment Dark Soul
  • Collection 2000 kohl eye pencil, 'Teal'
  • Collection 2000 Fast Stroke Liquid Eyeliner, black
  • No7 Waterproof Mascara (It's shit)

Skin stuff as normal, a bit boring, really, but I've been told I don't need skin stuff, so I don't really bother.

I used light blue Barry M Dazzle Dust all over my eyelid, with Violet [my current favourite eyeshadow] in the inner corner in the crease.
Dark Soul blended into Naval Blue in the outer crease.

Teal eyeliner on the waterline, black liquid eyeliner on the top, with flicks.
(I always have flicks like that, they're kinda my trademark... I love them)

Please ignore the stupid faces I'm making in the last two...

I'm lazy and sick, my eyebrows are shite.
& sorry the pics are a bit big...
But yeah- comments would be lovely =)

I like the combo. My recomendation would be to use a fluffy large shader brush or a blending brush and a highlight color to blend out the harsher lines on the top and to even things out. I think your off to a great start!

Thank you! =)
I'm rather in-experienced, but I looooove extreme make up, eyes especially.

A really great job! Something I might do a tiny bit differently is use a neutral or skin tone/barely-there color to blend out the edges of the shadow above your crease. Something kinda like shroom maybe that doesn't really change the color. Everyone starts out somewhere with their collection and you'll notice that most of us with huge collection have a nice blend of MAC and other things as well. Milani, Trucco, and NYX are cheaper,. they fit in the MAC palletes and really rock also.

I agree with the suggestions above. You definately are off to a good start. Taking advice from fellow Specktrettes has helped me a great deal. So, the only suggestion I would add would be to have your brows waxed. It really opens up the eyes. Get it done once and then you can just tweeze the re-growth yourself and won't have to keep on paying for it. Also, use some concealer on the bottom inner area to even out coloring. Looking forward to future posts from you!

Thank you! I only got it like a week ago, and before that it was past my shoulders. I was so so so scared of cutting it so short. I'm really happy with it though.
