has anyone ever went to a beauty school to get a haircut or hair color? if so how was it? i was going through the gene juarez academy website and they have affordable hair services. (haircut for 10 dollars and hair color for 32 dollars, they also have makeup application lessons for less than 10 dollars.)but im scared that they might  just mess up.

I had a so so experience at the Vidal Sasson school. They didn't really mess up my hair, but it was never what I wanted, but for the price (just $15 for highlights!) it was pretty amazing. And while the paul mitchell school charged more ($40) everyone was so nice, and they really cared about the health of my hair, although I have to say it still wasn't what I wanted. Now I go to a proffessional salon and I go in a completely different direction that what I was aiming for with the school, but the stylist picked out a fantastic color that I'm in love with and she's done th ebest job so far.

it depends on what stylist you go to .. I went to cosmo school with some AMAZING girls who were just absolute naturals at hair! ..

others.. eehh.. Not so much.

I've never had my hair cut or colored at a school, but I've gone in for manicures and it came out good. For the price I couldn't complain! I guess keep in mind most of the students are near graduation and their teachers are usually around

I'm not at a beauty school but im at college taking a hairdressing course, we have our student nights, we're not left alone with our clients and we're made to explain every step of the process to our tutor to make sure we're doing everything right. You may not get the same results as if you were going to a high end salon but it's still worth a visit to see how they do and they're really decently priced seeing as they're still training.
