so i was looking through these threads here and i'm seeing alot of suggestions for benzoyl peroxide cream to help with acne.

i haven't gotten a fullblown breakout in quite some time [since i'm almost 18, i'm hoping to be out of that breakout phase] but i still get the occassional blemish and a zit here or there.

would benzoyl peroxide cream work on those as well? or is it only a thing used for full breakouts? andddd where could i find this stuff?

Oh, BP... I've been using this for a while. You should be able to find BP in virtually any pharmacist, in different concentrations: 2.5%, 5% and 10%. If you're past full breakout stage, and are just using it for preventative measures, I'd recommend the lowest dosage; as it's essentially a kind of bleach that unclogs skin pores and kills bacteria, it is pretty drying. Your skin may get a little red and peel at first, so use a non-comedogenic moisturiser.

Panoxyl Acnegel is quite good, being water based and thus less drying... Oxy-on-the-Spot is also a readlily available treatment with BP. They're over-the-counter, so you don't need prescriptions. Hope that helps in some way!

you can get it at most grocery stores. Clearasil makes one I know. You can use it all over or for just spots, it really helped me.

Clean and Clear makes one called Persagel 10. I've used it for years and my skin still reacts to it very well. It's a bit drying but it's the only thing that works as a good spot treatment for me other than the Refining mask that Proactiv makes. Hope that helps.

I don't often have full fledged breakouts, but I do use the Persagel 10 for a spot treatment and when I get random acne clusters on my forehead and temples. I think it's great stuff. Like Corv's Queen said, it can be drying, so I've found that a little bit goes a looooong way along with a healthy slathering of oil-free moisturizing to clearing up the pimples. Persagel almost always nearly eliminates my blemishes overnight (I only use it at night because of the drying factor!).
