Best all-over shadow brush?

What is the best brush for basic everyday shadow on the lid? I have the 217, 242, 239, 252 and a bunch of others but I want something basic. I am using Sephora's #22 All Over Shadow brush and am looking for a MAC brush comparable to that, maybe a tad smaller since my eyes are pretty small. THanks!!!

I have small eyes too :) One of the first brushes I ever got was the 224 -and for the longest time, I didn't like it, and thought it was to big and fluffy - but now I use it all the time, to lightly put colour all over my lid - and it does an amazing job.

I would say the 239 if you just want one color, and the 217 if you want more than one color on your lid and you could only use one brush.

Lol I use to hate the 224 too because I wasn't using it right I guess...now I can't live without it but it's more of a blending brush not an overall brush. I would also recommend 239 for all over and make 224 the next one on your wish list

239 is the best all rounder - I love mine and I have several of them

The 213 is great for smaller areas as well

Is the full size 239 diff than the 239SE that came with the Holiday brushes? I know it's bigger, but is the shape different too? Because my 239SE has a weird point.. if it was flat it would be perfect lol!

Funny, I have the 224 and don't really like it either! I know it's a blender, but I must not be precious enough to use it because whenever I try to blend with it, it just makes a mess and smears all the colors together

I love the 226 though for blending and couldn't live without it

the 226 for blending. Don't know how I blended before it. LOL.
As for a basic all over brush, I'd say 239 or 217. If I can only pick 1 eye brush, I'd be 217. It does everything. And I love the 228 for outer-V

HTHs!

I have issues with the 224 for blending in general, so I just use it for my highlight. It gets a nice, light wash of color onto my browbone, and blends it down into the rest of my shadow nicely.

...and I don't know how I lived without the 226 either...it's effing amazing.
