Best foundation for a newbie?

I'm new to MAC makeup, and I'm not sure what MAC foundation to choose as my first. I know there are different types but I'm not sure what type I should go with. What foundation do you recommend? I use Revlon photoready in the color 004 nude, so any shade recommendation would be great. Thanks!

What is your skin type? And what kind of coverage & finish are you looking for? If we know those things we can better guide you to some options to look at/sample.

I probably should have included that information in my first post, eh

I have combination skin, my cheeks have a little redness and dryness in them. I'm looking for a dewy look I guess. Medium coverage. Nothing too matte that I'll look chalky.

You might want to look at the new MAC Mineralize SPF 15 compact foundation - it is a creamy formula in a compact and it sounds like it would suit your skin type well.

You also might want to check out MAC Studio Sculpt foundation and/or MAC Mineralize Satinfinish foundation. The Mineralize satinfinish has a gorgeous dewy satin finish without looking greasy.

MAC Studio Fix Fluid will likely be a little too full coverage/matte for you. But it is very popular.
