I've been using Moisture Maniac from BED HEAD and the Oatmeal & Honey CATWALK stuff but I'm not super impressed. When I used the Philosophy conditoner (in a tub) I really liked it! I've been wanting to try something like AVEDA, something more organic than chemical. Anyone tried those?

What shampoos and conditioners have you ad really great results with?

I was never impressed with bed head either.. but Aveda isnt all that great either. Try using MATRIX stuff. I am pretty impressed with it. I use the "sleek look" makes my hair super smooth.

It really depends on your hair type and what kind of results you're looking for. I'm personally not a fan of Aveda S&C because it irritates my scalp. Even though it's more natural, it has a lot of irritants in it. I love their styling products though.

Since I color my hair I avoid sulfates, it's my personal preference. I don't like how they strip my color, sulfates are very harsh. I personally LOVE the Kenra Platinum line. They have formulas for thin, normal and thick hair. The thick hair reconstructor (conditioner) has shea butter and makes my hair feel fabulous.

I've also been trying out the Sexy Hair Chocolate Soy Milk shampoo and Soy Milk Conditioner. It's sulfate free but a bit sticky to apply. It smells wonderful and also makes my hair feel good but not as great as Kenra.

If you're looking for a great deep conditioner, try the Olive Oil masque from Regis. It's wonderful!!! I've read good things about the Olive Oil S&C as well but haven't tried them personally.

I'm somewhat of a hair product fanatic so I apologize for the book-long post.

I use Pureology Pure Volume shampoo & conditoner. Pureology is designed for color treated hair. Granted, it is expensive $25 a bottle, but WELL WORTH IT!! (No sulfate) Not only does it protect the color in my hair, it adds lots of volume & smells delish!

i know it's crazy. but i like the dove line. my hair is clean, not overly fragranced (i like to smell like my perfume), and it helps with the frizzies. and it's inexpensive.

try kerastase. i hear good things about everything they make.
i also like redken. they have a smoothing line, as well as some great deep conditioners for moisture.

i work at aveda, what were you interested in? for the record, we don't claim that all of our products are organic, but a lot of the ingredients (as well as a 70% plant-and-flower-derived base in all products) are...

Thanks for all the advice, I haven't tried most of your reccomendations. I'm really rough on my hair; I heat style and blow dry every day, dye every month, and tease like a maniac. I just need something that will totally comfort my stressed out locks! Oh, and I need volume too!

I've been reading up on LUSH products, but I don't have a store near me. What do you guys think of their shampoos and conditoners?

Rusk "Sensories" is a great line...they make a wonderful leave-in conditioning treatment..and it smells like flowers and fruit!!! They're also a compressed formula...you only need a lil' bit for your whole head (which is great for me 'cause I have THICK THICK hair..it always takes SO MUCH product to distribute evenly; but not with Rusk

I really love the Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Conditioner....It smells so fresh and clean and nice...haha...the first time I used it I was smelling my hair like every 10 minutes for the rest of the day.

Otherwise I use just cheapo Dove stuff for coloured hair, cuz my hair is rather resilient...even when bleached and coloured...

Hi there Nikki

Seriously try Enjoy products. I've tried Bed Head, Aveda, Artec, Paul Mitchell, lord only knows what else, I've tried so much stuff. Enjoy is by far the best I've ever used. It's made for color treated hair too which is great. I use the hydrating shampoo and conditioner, the leave-in conditioner spray and a few of their other styling products. Mmm and it all smells really good, especially the shampoo and conditioner.
I thought Bed Head shampoo and conditioners were pretty weak but I do love a lot of their styling products. Superstar thickening spray is my favorite hair product ever! Now that stuff smells good! I want to use it as perfume too hah.
Enjoy is also a San Diego based company.

I have used a lot of diff professional salon products but my fav is L'Oreal Vitamino Color shampoo & conditioner. It's the only one that doesn't dry out my hair.

Thanks! I checked some of their stuff out online, I like that the shamps and conditioners are sulfate-free! My hair is jumping for joy! I'm off to Trade Secret tomorrow to pick me up a bottle of this stuff to check it out.

I gotta recommend Giovanni Tea Tree Triple Threat shampoo and conditioner. I straighten my hair everyday but it never looks dry when I use these. They have them at Whole Foods, and amazon.com has them too.

My hair is colored and very thick. I have used the Rusk leave in conditioner for a long time now IT IS AWESOME! I also use an Aveda product (hummmmmm don't have it at work to tell you the name) but it's very oily. I use ONE squirt, rub my hands together and frizzies are gone! It lasts forever..........

I love that line. I use it once every couple weeks to clarify my hair and balance out my scalp. Excellent products.

I use sulfate-free shampoo also to protect my red color treated hair. I am LOVING Brocato Cloud 9 shampoo right now - it lathers remarkably well considering it is sulfate free, smells good, and is very moisturizing.

I agree with Kenra and Pureology. Both are wonderful for colored hair. Kind of like buying insurance on your hair color after paying so much for it to be one!
