So who loves this show as much as I do? Everybody thinks I'm such a freak for being so into a show about polygamy, but I think it portrays it in such a different, more realistic light. It doesn't make polygamists appear to be perverts and uberreligious like others have.

For those who are watching, what do you think about the Season 2 opener? It was kinda bland IMO, I'm interested to see how everything unfolds and if it's as big a deal as they made it seem at the Season 1 finale. Poor Barb

Big Love is the only show I watch religously, I've erased 3 sentences extolling how much I enjoy watching these characters and the social interplay between them.

The season opener was good, but dude it's so fricken easy to totally dislike Nicki. So much so that when her character does something to redeem herself it's almost unbelieveable. When she was on the phone with barb trying to get her to come back, she was telling her that she married her AND Bill not just Bill. It just wasn't convincing!

I think the main point of the first episode of season II was to show that Barb is totally the center and anchor of the family and they are unmoored dysfunctional without her. They also setup some other sequences for Bill and his company, but I still think the main part was showing Barb's impact on the family.

At the end though, I had a twinge of dislike for otherwise completely likeable Bill because it seemed like Barb tilted her head up for a kiss right after she got her bag from the car, a very vulnerable moment for her, and he just turned and walked into the house. That got to me, because Bill had just admitted that he had abused her love for him to allow him to enter into a polygamist marriage.

I just love the show.

wow you really are a dedicated watcher! i'm glad! i have a hard time finding anybody who even watches it, let alone get into it like I have. People automatically make the generalization that it's just a show about a "lucky guy" who gets to sleep with three women all the time and that it's about perversions and cults. They don't understand that it's simply a story about a family who can't be a family openly because of what society thinks of their lifestyle, and the unfortunate legal circumstances.

I think it's a great show, really intelligent and well put together. The story is intriguing and I can't wait to watch everything open up this season! I got scared that it took so long to come back, I thought it was getting canceled!

I do get alot of negative responses when I talk to other socially about the show. It doesn't come up often, but when it does it's almost like people shut down and think it's some horrible promotion of unfair treatment for women.

I was really excited to hear it was back on, every few months I would get this twinge of missing it and wondering when it was going to be back.

i luv big love... its a great show..funny and it does show u another side of polygamy. I hate Nicki...ugh...shes just so ughhh... I was kind of disappointed by the opener. I would have loved if Barb would have stayed away for at least another episode or so. This really isn't the life for her. (not that I'm knocking it or anything)..but I remember last season..in a talk with Barb and Bill's brother (forgot his name) But he really isn't into polygamy either..but they were both willing to be unhappy for the one's they loved. I hope the rest of the season goes well!!!

I definitely love that show. I loved it from the beginning, because I spent quite a bit of time reading about polygamy and FLDS and such.

They ARE actually uberreligious, it's just that not all of them are pervs who wanna marry 14 year-old girls.
