Birthday/Anniversary Gifts for 1 yr for BF?

I've been dating my DB for almost one year. November 17th will be his birthday, and December 4th our 1 year Anniversary. These will both be the 1st times I get him gifts for the occasions. (I've only gotten him a CD and 2 hoodies, for Xmas as a holiday gift, other than in between little things or thoughtful stuff. ). What type of stuff do I get a guy? And with these so close together. Any ideas?

I would take him out for a nice dinner for his birthday, and get him something thoughtful (doesn't have to be big and expensive) to commemorate your anniversary...

Those are good ideas. My birthday is a week before, so I might see how it goes, and judge by that what would make him happy

maybe do something for him only you and him would understand? like a inside joke or something.. or make him something. gifts from the heart are the best. You could make him a lil scrap book of pictures or just anything like that, that lets him know he means the world to you

Oh my gosh, you know, I bough him this cute picture book, and I was gonna print out all my digi-cam pics from when we met til present day and put them in there. I hid it so he wouldn't find it...**** I almost forgot that! And for his BDay I am gonna cook him his favorite dinner for his birthday. I hope all goes well

Just a heads up on how screwed I am:

I work with my bf at work. Midday he surprized me with a zales heart pendant necklace, and during my lunch he run up a dozen roses/lily mix bouquet. And took me to dinner at night. **** now I'm stressing, his Bday is the 17th and I'm soooo behind!!

I would suggest cooking him dinner or go out to eat at a restaurant that both of you have never been to and then maybe go to the movies? As far as gifts, a gift card to his favorite place would be nice. Enjoy those 2 special days!

UPDATE on my drama..rofl

For his birthday I really wanted to get him an IPOd nano, since he has loved mine since christmas, so I've held on to that idea, til 2 days ago when he told me his mom got 2 for free from work, and if i'd help him download songs from mine. DAMN! So I got him a new Ecko hoodie, cause since I met him he wears the same one alsmot everyday, and for $70 I don't blame him..ha I also ordered him rubber floor mats for his new car. He just sold his new VW GTI for a Volvo 850..lol. so not needed to say, he needed a kinda upgrade, even that car is pretty nifty
