Hi girls! I wanted to tell you all about what I did for my birthday this year. It was my best birthday ever!
On Thursday, my parents came up to my apartment, and we went out to eat at my favorite restaurant- Red Lobster. I got the ultimate feast (lobster, snow crab, shrimp, fries) plus a side of king crab legs, ceasar salad, and two appetizers. We were SO full! King crab is my favorite food, and seafood is my favorite food group, so I was very happy. For presents, they got me a new pair of black bootcut jeans, a dinosaur book I wanted, and two items I didn't like- a black velvet blazer and a black leather messenger bag. I really don't like velvet, and the bag wasn't cute at all.
But I'm returning them, and then I'll get to spend the $250 on things I want instead. My mom tries, but she STILL doesn't know my fashion taste. haha
That night, my new coworker/friend Nikki asked me to go out drinking with her. I'm glad I agreed to! She picked me up and drove us to a bar in Ballard called Hatty Hats. There was a nice quiet room in the back with a big fishtank, so we got lots of conversation in! It was the first time we got to see each other outside work. I got pretty drunk from three shots of 151 plus a Malibu mixed drink. She invited me back to her place to try on bras! *blush* She gave me one as a present, which I passed out in after she drove me home. haha Nikki's going to be an interesting friend!
On Friday night I was supposed to meet Holly downtown at the Cheesecake Factory. But first, Jenny IM'd me and we had a great time walking. I helped her study for her French final, then left to catch the bus downtown. I missed the bus, but Jenny was incredibly nice because she gave me a ride to the city! I was so grateful. Holly and I had a delicious dinner- jambalaya and a shrimp and crab salad respectively. We had a couple drinks, but not enough to have much of an effect. For dessert, I ordered a piece of chocolate peanut butter cookie dough cheesecake- YUM! Holly payed for the dinner, and gave me a card too. We had a good time.
Last night, Jenny got all dolled up for our night together. She looked so beautiful and elegent! After making a stop at the liquor store for some Malibu mango rum, she drove us to The Outback for dinner. Dinner was delicious- king crab and ceasar salad for me, steak and potato soup for her, along with a bloomin onion for an appetizer. We were very full when we went outside to prefunk in the car. The fullness and lack of chasers made it hard to get drunk quickly, but we had plenty of fun in the meantime. We got some mixed drinks at the bar, played some arcade games there, and had some of the best conversations ever in her car. Sometimes laughing, sometimes crying. My favorite moment was when she told me "I know nobody else will ever love me the same way you do." I couldn't stop myself from tearing up and hugging her, and her reply to that was simply "I love you too." I get teary eyed just thinking about it. We went back to her place and talked more, until very late at night. The whole night's expenses were on her, but the best gift she gave me was her company.
