Black lipgloss

Ok, so I'm kind of having a dilema here... I want to get YSL's Pur Black lipgloss. I have MAC's black lip mix, but I haven't been able to get a nice gloss out of it and I noticed that it has a brownish base to it when I tried to thin it out with clear lipgloss. I love the effect of lipstick + gloss, is it worth it to get the YSL Black gloss?
Price is kind of the issue, I can pay for it but I think that $28 for a lipgloss is a might steep. I try to tell myself that it's a rare item which would makeup for the high price (which is why I'd never get the YSL generic colors). Is there any other brand out there that has a nice black lipgloss?

OOoo! Thank you! This one says the product line is more of a lipstain, so I'm not sure how that would work over a lipstick. It's cheap enough I'm sure that I could try it out. It looks like the one on the bottom is either Kat Von D's or Lancome's black lipgloss.

I've seen from various blogs that the YSL lipgloss on its own gets sheered out a bit and looks like a very dark plummy colour, not really on the brownish side.

I was reading a recent ELLE magazine and Lancome has a new black lipgloss.

I have the YSL lipgloss and the color is nice....not black black, but I did notice that the color sort of settles in the lines on your lips. If that makes sense!! I have a few MAC glosses that do the same thing. I personally wouldn't recommend purchasing it. I think I've had it for 3 months and never once wore it out. Wish I would have gotten something a little cheaper.

I have the YSL black gloss and really like it. You can apply it lightly for a sheer black or heavier for a very opaque black.

If you are concerned about your gloss sheering out or pulling too brown, try layering it with MUFE's black lipstick: Sephora: Make Up For Ever Lipstick: Lipstick or lining with black eye liner and blending the liner into the lips.

Or just keep it cheap by adding clear gloss over black eye liner or the MUFE black lipstick ($18).

BTW, the Kat von D dark lipgloss isn't black. It is a VEEEERY sheer dark gray.

I have the YSL Pur Black and have yet to wear it anywhere. When it came out, I ran out to the Bloomies counter because I just had to have it. And it's been untouched since then. Looking back, I should have tried the NYX black gloss first.
