Bleaching hair?

Okay, here's the deal: A year ago I bleached my hair twice the salon and got it blonde. It previously was dyed black. The bleach really damaged my hair for awhile and when I tried to dye my hair darker it would never stick. Now I finally have healthy hair. It's a dark brown color now.. still lighter than my previous black color. I now want it to be a little lighter... I want it to be a golden mahogony brown color.

Now my question is.. is it possible to bleach it just once and not leave the bleach on long and have my hair not so damaged? Since I'm not dying my hair too much lighter than my color right now is it possible that the bleach won't kill my hair?

GO TO A SALON!!!! i can't stress that enough lol

they can do it properly, especially since your hair is still probably somewhat damaged...and if you try to lighten it yourself it might end up taking differently throughout the length of your hair.
