blond or brunette?

I had my hair bleached 3 weeks ago to a light brown, and a full set of light blond highlights with minking, which costed me about $150+tip. My hair likes to grow uber-fast and I have about 3mm of roots growing in already, which doesn't sound like alot, but it bugs me to no tomorrow..

Going at this rate I'm going to be spending alot on my hair redoing my roots. So what are your opinions...

Should I go brunette, where I can let my hair grow out for as much as 2 months until I absolutely have to redo it, or continue bleaching it every 4 weeks?? What's the deal with blonds and brunettes anyway. I don't seem to be having alot more fun...I just seem to be slaving myself at the tanning salon alot to tan my pale ass to look decent with blond hair.

You sound like me. After a year and a half of having my dark brown hair highlighted blonde (it looked blonde all over) I have decided to give it up and I dyed it all violet and red. At least when my roots grow out they won't be as noticable and you know what? I am having a blast as a redhead!! I forgot how much I missed punk red/violet hair

yeah i love red hair too. but i tried that and the color fades very quickly, and it usually ends up this coppery color.

I have really dark hair and I used to have light brown and blonde highlights. I loved them when I would just get them done, but as they started to grow out, my outgrowth was super noticeable and it irritated me! Like yourself, my hair grew really fast and I had to get the highlights touched up like every 6-8 weeks (8 weeks was really pushing it).

I might have a suggestion for you

. Is your hair layered?

I get my highlights underneath the crown of my hair aka, hideen highlights or peekaboo color. I did this since I am lazy and HATE to maintain hair.

My white blonde highlights (I'm a natural redhead) are grown out about 2.5-3 inches, and you can't tell since the top of it blends in with the rest of my hair...and only the white blonde shows- its awesome if you don't want to go to the salon all the time to get it touched up.

IMO, I think you would be well to get a main haircolor close to your natural color , and try the highlights underneath. They're hot.

I think next time I gte mine done (soon, I think) I'm going to get the white blonde again (I love it) and dark, warm chocolate ones, too...alllll underneath.

I have hidden hightlights or panel highlights also and I was gonna suggest the same thing. Panel highlights as opposed to the traditional stripey highlights are placed in horizontally instead of vertically. They're great if you don't want to get your hair touched up all the time. I also think they're hot especially when the dark hair is sitting on top of the highlights and you can see the contrast. IMO, panel highlights are cool cause they're different. They show even more when your hair is layered.

Thanks ladies. I think I'll give that a try. Sounds sorta like minking, which I only had done to the bottom layer. But I'll try it on top when I go..
