BLOT POWDER - What am I doing wrong?

I just can't get it work!
I bought it because I thought yes! No more shine! and ugh... it just looks horrible! When I apply it I look all flakey and you can see it so clearly! I thought it only had 3% pigmentation in it! I've tried using blot paper beforehand that an MA at the pro store in London suggested, but it still doesn't work!

Any tips on how to get this to work properly?

I find it works best if you use a large powder puff for the compact type, and gently press the powder into the skin....it melds with foundation far more easily that way. If it's the loose variety I find a large fluffy brush is best and I apply the powder in very light layers. If you still look a bit powdery Fix+ will help/

Which brush do you use? I've tried it with a brush and it still doesn't work for me! Maybe i'm just too oily? haha.

I exfoliate everyday... well, kinda, its a facewash with 'bursting beads' in it!
