blot powder

I have MAC blot powder in medium/dark and it seems to end up looking cakey on me. I think it may be because of the puff that it came with. I have tried applying it with a brush, but it doesn't do much. So, I was wondering what everyone else used to apply it to get rid of the cakey look that I achieve. Thanks in advance!

It depends what you are using it for. It is meant to be used strictly to soak up oil and shine; it doesn't add any color or texture. I know that when I first got it I was using it to try to give a 'finish' to my liquid foundation. This just made it show up caked, and uneven. Also, the MA i talked to said to only use it in a 'blot' type of motion, never rub or drag it on your face. If you wanted to try a different powder which gives more coverage/powder I would recommend Studio Fix. HTH!!

I love my blot powder. But its true, it isn't meant to add colour or texture. I use my 129 brush and just sort of dust it on. It takes away all my shine!
