Blusher tips for high colour?

I wondered if anyone had any advice/opinions on this?

I have quite high colour in my cheeks and face and I'm prone to flushing. I usually avoid wearing blusher because of this but I don't think make up looks 'complete' without it.

Are there any blusher colours that you could recommend? Or any tips on how to combat the redness? I'm quite pale with blue eyes, brown hair and flushed cheeks if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

I think a sheer beauty powder or MSF would look nice on you. It would highlight you're natural rosey cheeks. Shell Pearl is a nice one that I have. Or the Northern Lights MSF.

I'm pale as well and Northern Lights MSF is wonderful--I recommend it! I have a lot of pigmentation in my cheeks and I balance it out with foundation before applying blush.

try a really light bronzer...you want to counteract the red in your skin, not enhance it, so avoid things with a red/pink base.
green-tinted concealer will cancel out red since they're complimentary colors, from there you can apply bronzer for a little color in a different, more flattering tone.
hth!

Thanks for the recommendations. I like the idea of trying the MSFs, are they easy to apply?

d_flawless, any tips for a good light bronzer?

Nars Laguna is a gorgeous light bronzer. Msf's are very easy to apply, just use a skunk brush.

I use a 187 brush to apply Northern Lights, if that helps

Thanks rabideloise, I've only got a few brushes so far so it's really useful to know what brushes are best for which areas/applications

No problem, it seems we have similar coloring so whatever works well for me will probably work well for you too. Make sure to blend, blend, blend

maybe instead of using a blush maybe try a highlighting product instead? like the above users i would probably go with northern lights MSF or even lightscapade MSF. the bobbi brown shimmerbricks are nice but more expensive than the MAC MSFs; if you want a cheaper alternative try looking into the milani glimmerstripes instead. MAC pearl or luna CCB would also be nice.

Thanks xiahe. I think I'm going to get one of the MSFs as so many people have recommended these. I'm putting the shimmerbricks on my wish list too - I'm expecting a baby very soon so will be ready prepared if anyone asks what pressie for the Mummy
