any suggestions on where i can get a couple of books that have makeup tips, how tos, and stuff like that ??

I suggest the kevyn aucoin books mainly making faces and face forward. These were my first books and I love them and still reference them quite often, he was such a genius and his versatility and range shows so much in these books.

Makeup Your Mind by Francois Nars
Beauty for Dummies by Stephanie Seymour (this book has a glossy section with simple looks by NARS)
