I want to purchase the Studio Fix Fluid fndt, but in the past the Studio Fix powder fndt broke me out after 2 months use, do you think it will happen the same with the liquid one too??

Has anyone try both, and broke out only from the powder one?

I have oily/acne prone skin, and looking for a Mac liquid fndt.

I have tried both. And like you, I have extremely oily/acne prone skin. The powder broke me out but the SFF did not. It's weird because they're supposed to have the same ingredients anyway, just different consistency.

I'd say get a sample and see how it will react on your skin. I rarely use the SF powder nowadays. My Natural MSF feels and looks much better than how the SFP looks these days.

Oh, this just occured to me, but are you using the sponge for your SFP? This could cause you to break out as the sponge isn't cleaned as often as a brush. Just a thought. I'd still recommend that you ask your MA for a sample and try it out before getting the full-size bottle =)

Really?? thanks!!!

Yay I used to apply it with the sponge!

The problem is that the MAs here don't give samples, I asked many times and their answer was that Mac doesn't give samples!! Really I hate them!!!

i had broken out awfully from SF powder within literally 3 days of wearing it (and i used a brush, bc sponges skeev me out)! that was such a shame because it made my skin look so good

right now im trying out Studio Tech, and im super nervous everyday im gonna wake up with awful painful acne all over my face like from SF, but so far so good (its been less than a week still). im definetly being super cautious and thoroughly thoroughly washing my face at night and im making sure to wear a primer underneath (Peter Thomas Roth) and tons of zit cream at night (as you can see SF powder has definetly scarred me badly)

in regards to SFF, i have definetly heard great things about it! that lots of people who had problems with the powder found that the fluid was definetly alot better and no break out problems.

HTH!

Are you using the sponge to apply the studio fix powder?
And are you touching up with it throughout the day or using just a sheer powder

While the sponge is convenient it's a sponge so it will hold bacteria from your skin causing breakouts, the foundations themselves will not directly cause breakouts

Also if you keep touching up with the studio fix that could also have something to do with it,since it's foundation you want to use it once and then only using a blot powder, select sheer pressed or natural mineralized skin finish to touch up

Also studio fix fluid is a silicone based foundation

I broke out from SFF but had less problems with the powder,at least I think so (since I'm prone to break outs with or without foundation I didn't pay attention all the months I was wearing the powder).

As to the samples: my counter definitely has small plastic jars to put things it it, I already got foundation, pigment and paint (from the old tubes). But I can think they aren't able to sample eyeshadow or lipstick because that would have to be scraped out...

SF powder broke me out bad but Studio Fix Fluid actually helps keep me clear I think. When I use it I have no problems, soon as I switch to something else, I break out a little, so I now just use that. It's my HG for my combo skin!

At first I thought silicone was the ingredient that broke me out, but for 2 months I was using a silicone based primer ( Smashbox) and didn't broke me out at all, my skin was OK with it, that means that silicone wasn't the one that broke me out from Studio Fix powder right, or no??
