Bridal makeup - how can I add a little purple?

I am having problems coming up with a bridal look for my wedding next month. I hardly ever wearing neutrals so the whole traditional bridal makeup thing is turning out to be a lot harder than I thought. I don't want to be too dramatic but I was thinking that I could maybe add a little bit of purple in some how (thats what colour my bridemaids are).

I have pretty much figured out that I want to wear either jest or naked lunch as my lid colour and vanilla as my highlight other than that I am not really sure.
some other colours that I am have tried using so far are sketch, satin taupe, sable, mulch, embark and trax.

Any suggestions on any colour combos would be very much appreciated. I NEVER thought that makeup would be sooooo stressful for me.

For reference I have dark brown hair, brown eyes, and I have oliver/yellow undertones. In MAC I am C4/NC30.

Do you have a picture of yourself to post? It would make it a little easier

here is a picture of me from the other day when I was trying to figure out what makeup to wear. It's just seems kinda boring to me though. what do you think?

Try putting a purple under your lower lashes, that way you can stay with the bridal neutrals for the most part. HTH!

I don't remember what neutral color I used on my lid, but I used shadowy lady in the crease and dazzlelight as the highlight.

Addicted, you're so cute!

I personally like the look, but I also agree; it looks like it's missing something... I dunno...

MissChievous has just recently shared a tut "Elegant and timeless Bridal Makeup" (in the tutorial section). It may inspire you - you can take ideas from it, or use it as a guideline & incorporate purple eyeshadow.

What about trying Motif on the lid, Sketch in the crease, and Vanilla e/s as a highlight..? ...and like Gilded said, do a purple liner on your lower lashline, or even use Sketch wet as a liner. GL hun...I'm sure whatever you decide on, it'll be gorgeous.

Oh yeah...and one more thing...I know you don't wanna go nuts with your makeup, but remember that it's YOUR wedding, and no one can tell you what's wrong or right for your makeup...so if there's something you want to do, go for it. Hell, there's no reason you can't do a purple smokey eye...it doesn't have to be crazy, you can do it in a subtle way, and if anyone says "boo" to you about it, take off your heels and beat them about the head and torso.

If you really want to include purple I agree the lower lashline and maybe tear ducts with something like beautiful iris....

do you have a lighter purple shadow like illegal cargo from naughty nauticals or shale from the perm line? I love those two. If you want a really soft look, stick with the light lid colours you have narrowed it down to (naked lunch, jest, vanilla to highlight) but I think shale/illegal cargo in the crease could add a bit of soft purple.

I LOVE shadowy lady but thats quite a bit darker, but blended out with light colours like naked lunch and jest could make it less smokey but still HOT!

You look beautiful in your pic. What if you did Sketch in the outer third and it fades into Jest on the in two-thirds of your top lid and then just sweep that Sketch along 2/3's of the lower lash line. I would also suggest Burnt Burgundy pigment as an alternative to Sketch.

I might try for a little more color on the lips. Something close to your lip colour and not too frosty. VGVI maybe?

Remember, it's all about the pictures and sometimes frosty, glittery, etc. does not work with the photography. So try taking some pictures in darker conditions to see how the light from the flash bounces off your make-up.

Good luck and I am sure you will be a beautiful bride!

If I were you I'd browse some bridal magazines... You may get more ideas on how to incorporate a bit of color into your bridal look.. If you're doing it yourself, I'd highly recommend against it. watch a few bridal beauty videos and keep it neutral. you won't regret it.

remember, you're going to want to look at those photos X years later and not feel like your makeup was dated

so I used some of the suggestions that people have given me and this is what I came up with. I need better lashes but other than that please let me know what you think. I used jest on the lid, nocturelle in the crease blended into the outer lid a bit, sketch in the outer crease, vanilla as my highlight and illegal cargo to blend the nocturelle out. I feel like I look more like myself in this photo since I wear purple a lot more often than I wear neutrals.

Any more advice would still be appreciated. Thanks again everyone!

Pretty! I think the best idea is using purple as a crease/outer V color. I just got married this past weekend, and I went with neutrals. I wear mainly neutrals though, so I still looked like myself. However, I did contemplate wearing some purple, because I love the color & it's the color my bridesmaids wore. If I had done that, I would've done something like Naked Lunch/Jest on the lid, with Fig.1 in the crease, and Signed, Sealed or Sketch in the outer V. Good luck with everything! I know how stressful this all is.

I think you look gorgeous! It's not over the top, and if you feel more like yourself that way, then I say go for it. It's your wedding day, it's all about you, so if it makes you happy, then do it!

I love using brule on the lid, wedge in the crease with a tiny touch of shadowy lady, lined with shadowy lady and femme fi for a highlight

I think you look gorgeous.
I sometimes wear alot of mulch (or preferably bronze) on the outer half of the lid, and blend that into a darker purple (I usually use top hat, perhaps you could use sketch) in the outer corner, and mid purple (fig 1) in the crease. The bronzy brown blended into the purple works really well....specially with vanilla in inner corner and highlight...
HTH's!
