ive done a few weddings and heres what ive learned from it..
-use a primer that doesnt have spf in it because the ingredient in spf (i forgot what its called) reflects off the cameras flash and makes their face look white; it also makes the foundation oxidize faster...
-if youre going to be at the wedding, keep some oil blotting sheets and powder and a brush by your side, so you can do touch ups if she gets oily.
-shimmery and light colors bring out features, while matte and dark colors contour and do the opposite... since she's oily, id keep the shimmer to a minimum and add it lightly to the browbone and the cheekbone area. i would keep the rest of the makeup matte but applied with a light hand, then layer more color if its needed. her makeup will look clean and blended.
hth.. good luck!

Use shimmer textures in moderation - if you overdo it, the camera will really pick this up and the bride can look "greasy" in the photos. Especially if the bride has oily skin, as you stated.

Also wanted to add that based on your FOTDs - your bride is in very good hands. You are very talented!

I've been doing more and more weddings lately and usually I give the bride a little care package for the day. If they like the lippie I've used on them I offer to purchase it for them (charge the rrp along with your fee on the day) and I pop that into a little calico bag with a few sheets of blot paper and a disposable lip brush. That way she can touch up her lippie all day and if she starts to get greasy or perspire she can use the blot film to clear it up.

Also I tend avoid anything shimmery/frosty on the brow bone, I've seen allot of brides get mega bounce back with the flash on that area especially on an overcast day. I always use Brule e/s etc for highlights to avoid this problem.

Have you done a trial yet? This will take away allot of your nerves for the big day if you already know what you'll be using.

HTH and good luck!

Based on my experience Prep + Prime Skin is not that great for oily skin.

Prep + Prime Face Protect SPF 50 and Studio Fix Fluid and blot powder has been the best for long time wear with minimal touch ups.

Generally I use matte shadows that are warm toned. I try to stay away from frosts unless the bride requests it because they are sometimes to shinny in pictures.

My idea of bridal makeup is neutral shades on the eyes with sexy smudgey liner. Peach blush and nude peach or pink lips.

If she has super oily skin I'd suggest using a mattifying primer, Sephora has a really good one, and powder foundation instead of liquid.

Lots of matte colors or satin textures, try not to use shimmer at all if possible, even for contouring and highlighting. Keep it very subtle and soft. Use complimentary colors depending on the brides natural coloring and undertone, as those will enhance and not take away from her natural beauty (warm skin - soft bronzes, golds, warm peaches and vanillas, cool skin - roses, taupes, champagnes, cool browns). Brides love to look glowy so definitely use a non-spf foundation with a soft natural finish (I love Stila's Natural Finish Oil-Free foundation).

Get natural wispy lashes or individuals if you have a steady hand and waterproof adhesive. Line and fill lips with lipstick, blot it down with translucent powder to make it budgeproof and kissproof, and then dab some gloss or balm onto the lips.

Do some light contouring too, as this will look great in pictures.

You'll do great, you're talented. I was nervous too when I first started working on other people but it gets easier. Practice some more on your friends.

You gotta do some color correcting. If you try to just conceal you'll run the risk of it getting too heavy. Color correct, foundation, then pat on concealer where she needs extra help, press on loose powder to finish. DON'T just use powder foundation. She will be a caked on mess a few hours in.

Also, powder doesn't photograph well. It absorbs light so the face can look lighter than the body in pictures even if it is a perfect match in natural light.
