Bridal Makeup?

Does anyone know if MAC will do your makeup for your wedding day? I am getting married on the Style Black release and was hoping to incorporate some of that makeup into my look, plus I was already planning on spending at least $100 on Style Black. Also, would they do my bridesmaids too (there is 3 of them)?

Thanks!

Hey... Hopefully it helps but as far as i know... It depends on the counter people if they want to do it or not. I've seen several people do make up for their weddings including their bridesmate at the mac counter in a department store. Go ahead and ask the people at the mac store or mac counter

I was also wondering. I just called the Pro store in Vegas and made the appointments and asked about the $50 fee and she said it is for application only and you get a free mascara. I thought when you paid the $50, it applied towards the purchase of makeup? Is it because it's for bridal makeup?

That's the policy for stores. I don't work at a store so I could be wrong but I believe that is for a 'makeup lesson'. They take extra time to help and walk you through the application. It is 50 dollars and you get a mascara with it. I THINK you may be able to just get the makeup done and then purchase 50 in product.

The policy at all MAC counters is $50 purchase or more of product for application of makeup, whether we teach you something or not. Call the PRO store and ask them if there are two seperate application types? I hope that helps!

at mac stores its deff a 50 dollar flat pay price just for getting ur makeup done. then you can spend anything u want on products but that all up to you.

and if it is like my location, we only do one appointment per hour, so you're looking at at total of 4 hours for makeup.

Thanks again for all this info. I actually ended up calling around to the other MAC's in the area and the MAC @ Macy's only required a purchase of anything, plus they could do 2 people an hour, which works better for moi. I plan on spending a sh*tload on Style Black, so it's all good!

you're brave...
you know you're taking a big risk right. I always hear MAC artist complaining about women on their proms/weddings/dates who don't understand that on a busy day at their counters they really have to wait. They will be doing your make up and potentially servicing other customers in the store.

good luck anyways and congratulations

Calling and making an appointment is preferred so that artists can be reserved for appointments, and different artists can be reserved for walkups. There shouldn't be any problems.

Obviously it depends on your location but my friend went for a trial and it was a nightmare.

I'd hire a makeup artist instead.

Wow, I wish we could do that. They always double book us. We have even been triple booked. We have no choice but to step away. :/

^^^man that sucks! we only book one appt per hour, and we only book them when there's more than one artist working. that way there's one for the appt, and one to run the floor. if people walk up, they get the artist running the floor, and that artist steps away. we've had people wait over an hour to get started, but, that's what happens when you don't make an appt.

is there not a freelance artist that could come to your house on your big day? i got married a couple of years ago and i was stupidly stressed out just getting my hair done, let alone getting my make up done in a busy store. even if they can make an appointment i don't think you'd be as relaxed as you could be.

i was lucky and just did my own make up on my wedding day - but if i had wanted somebody to do it for me i'd have got somebody to my house. more expencive but worth it in the long run.

I have to agree, that its better to get someone to come to your house/wedding site.

It's less running around, less stress, you dont have to bring everything into the mall, etc.

It says on her profile that she's from BC (Canada) and she mentioned calling stores in Vegas, so I would assume she's doing a destination wedding. =)

As for the MAC in Metrotown, their policy is $50 for the makeup application but that $50 can be applied towards product purchase. The MAC on Robson Street charges $50 and you get a free mascara. I don't know WHY they are different, but it seems to vary depending on the store.

If you're looking for a freelance makeup artist, you could try Craigslist to find one in the area your wedding will be. Just a suggestion.
