Bridesmaid hair?

I'm going to be in a wedding next weekend & I have a hair appt. for the morning. The last few weddings I went to I noticed that all the bridesmaids wore their hair down & the brides wore her hair an updo. Is this how it's supposed to be? Or does it not matter how the bridesmaids do their hair, because I was planning on doing an updo with mine. But, not if that would be inappropriate. I have been to several weddings, but this is my first time being in one. So any advice would really help ; )

i recommend asking the bride - some brides won't care, some brides don't want the bridesmaids looking better than them.

i myself want my bridesmaid looking great, but somewhat uniform. so i wouldn't want one bridesmaid with a fancy updo, while another wear her hair casual and down.

just ask the bride if she had a set look for you all or if it doesn't matter to her.

Bridesmaid hair is all supposed to coordinate with the bride, so the person to ask would be her, she may have an exact hairdo she wants for you
