So I have some cream e/s that needed a bit of reviving. (They had dried out a bit.) I have heard of people microwaving lipstick and other things as a means of depotting so I thought I would try to microwave my cream e/s. All of them were fine and most of them are now back in a usable state, except for the black one... For some reason that started to smoke like crazy

:eek2: so I took it out of the microwave and all the material has crumbled and turned into a powdery material. Is there any way to make it go back to cream or shud i just bin it??

you should never microwave anything, it will dry it out like crazy. I would throw it out and start again, if it does dry out again, add something like mixing medium, or fix + something that adds moisture not takes it away.

also you can try to keep the useable ones in the fridge, I've found they are easier to use when doing this (wait about 20 minutes after taking it out to use though)

I would never microwave any cosmetics!! I don't think it's a good idea. I would either spray some fix+ on it, or wet the eyeshadow brush in some Mixing Medium then swirl it around a bit. If it's dried out, you want to add moisture, not take it away, and I think a microwave could cause that because it heats up the water in the thing being microwaved, but some of it also evaporates.
