Brow lightening or coloring

I want to try this, because I've seen/heard how it softens the face. I want to go maybe a shade or two lighter, nothing too drastic since my hair is quite dark. So tell me if I have this right: darker haired girls should go a couple shades lighter, while blondes should go a few shades darker?

Has anyone done this and if so, did it soften your face? Did you like it, and would you do it again?

Thanks!

I think it looks funny, lighter than hair for dark hair, but maybe that is just me. Personally you look gorgeous and angel already!!

If you do decide to get it tinted it's not going to make much of a difference. At cosmetology school they taught us to never leave it on for more than ten minutes, or until it's about a shade or two (at the most) lighter. And since you're hair (and eyebrows) are so pigmented, I'd think it would have a hard time lifting the color. You may want to just have a consultation with a salon that does it, because god forbid you mess up those perfect eyebrows

I bleach my eyebrows with Jolen Face Bleach. I have VERY BLACK eyebrows -- it looks quite fake whenever I take pics, so I lightened them a bit though I did have to bleach them 3 times before I was able to get 1-2 shades lighter but totally worth it because it really does have a big influence on your face.

I tried to darken my sparse brown brows so they'd look thicker, and you honestly could not tell the difference

So I got MAC brow gel, at least they're a little thicker!

Just wondering how low the bleach lasts

Do they get darker requiring more bleaching or do they stay 1-2 shades lighter?

It will be exactly one month on June 5th and they haven't faded back to black yet.

Brow Highlighting

Hey,
I was just wondering why you all use such extreme highlighting on your brow bone, please don't be offended by my asking this, I am a make-up artist but live outside the states and its not something we do here or aussie, so Im just wondering if that is the fashion in the US?

Please don't be offended, I don't mean to offend in anyway, just a bit confused....

it just really lifts the brow and helps to make the eye look larger - which in the U.S., big doll eyes are seen as sexy...also it's one of those "playboy/pornstar" things that has become so popular for makeup (which i love!)

Big Hollywood craze

I have noticed that a lot of celebreties are doing the 'brow lightening' thing. It is really noticible if you look as older versus newer pics of people like Ashanti, Mary J Blige, Mariah Carey and even Oprah.

I was reading in Iman's Beauty of Color that you should leave it on 1 to 2 mins for a chestnut brown and up to 5 mins for strawberry blonde. I guess it mainly depends on what look you are going for....
