I know that shampoo works, but I find it very messy, and I have to do it early in the everning to make sure my brushes are dry in the morning when i want to use them. plus they get to soft, I want my brushes a bit more dense

Clinique also makes a brush cleaner, this is what I use. I really like that it sprays b/c it makes it easier for me. I have used MAC in the past, and this works just as well! HTH

well, sweetie, it sounds like you should just wait till you can get more MAC, haha. when I run out of brush cleaner, I just use my kids shampoo... but like you said, it takes a noticeably longer amount of time to dry. Stock up next time sister!

I don't think it'd be a good idea to use most shampoos becuase they're too "harsh", and can "strip" your brushes, KWIM?

People normally use Baby Shampoo because it's supposed to be more gentle...it won't ruin the genuine hair brushes...and it's a lot less likely to strip the glue binding that holds the ferrule and hairs in place...

I know it also has mild conditioners in it to condition the brush hairs...I almost bought some Johnson's BS (baby shampoo...not bullsh8t
rofl.gif
) tonight...but I think I'll wait 'till I go to MAC and get the brush cleanser

On another note: I ALWAYS have a terrible prob. w/ my foundation brush taking FOREVER to dry...I'm talking like...2 or 3 DAYS!!!!!! I know it's Taklon fiber....but jeeeeez...I'd like to use it sometime!!!!!! Anyone else have this problem?? And what to do about it??

I used a super caring shampoo that makes even my dry split ends extremely soft, but that was NOT a good idea, because it made my brushes too soft, they need to be a bit more dense.

I clean them at before I go to sleep at night, and I wipe them over a towel and gently squeeze the moist out, and then I put them on a towel in the window(make sure that the window is open for air, but make sure your brushes cannot fall out because of wind, or can be stolen!) and let them dry all night.
usually the foundation brush isn't toaaly dry , but it never relly bothered me, I just use them to apply moisturizer first, and then my foundation

I had a problem with brush bristle "frizziness" when I used a foaming face wash. Then I switched to a hair conditioner (on brushes used for powders), which took care of the frizzies.

I use a brush cleanser from Paula Dorf. It is also available in a spray format. Unfortunately, it is no longer on the Sephora web site. I can only find it on the Paula Dorf web site.
