am i the only one that regularly uses spongetip applicatours for eyeshadow?

mostly just because i don't have time most mornings to change brushes and all that, so i just use the spongetip.

does anyone else still use them or is pretty much everyone using brushses?

i actually just started using spongetips regularly about 2 months ago. it packs on the color so much more than any brush i've tried. i only use the sponges for the lid color, though. the rest i use brushes for

i use the sponge tips to apply matte shadows and matte pigments cos i find they apply the color better than brushes..

i used to use spongetips a lot but then i noticed the brushes help with a smoother application (at least for me cuz my blending isnt that amazing)...

It's been a long time since I've used spongetips. I use Stila brush #5 for all over color and MAC #242 brush to apply color to the lid and to the crease. This MAC brush has firm bristles and applies the color very nicely.

I used to buy those little matchbook sets of sponge tip applicators, and I would have one for every color (this was a long time ago when I only had about 20 eyeshadows). It started to drive me crazy because I would mix them up and use the wrong one with the wrong color, and my skin oils would get on them after a couple of uses and make the shadow texture kind of funky. Then I got into my brush obsession and haven't really used the sponges since. They definitely are great for getting lots of color on, but my OCD won out, hehe.

Yuck. Sponge tips collect bacteria. So unless you throw them out and use a new one every day, you are spreading bacteria all over your eye lids.

Gosh I haven't used sponges in a long time. Not so much because I don't like them but because I never found any ones that I liked.
The ones that came with a Shiseido PN quad I have are really nice! I wish I could find more like those! They apply like a dream and I was them after each use.

I use my fingers and q-tips a good bit too but I mostly use brushes.

Try a M·A·C 219 brush - you can use it to pack incredible amounts of colour onto the lid and it's easier to keep clean

I just can't ever seem to manage using a spongetip, they're so clumsy for me, unless I'm trying something at a counter that is.

I use sponge brushes all the time for veluxes, mattes, or for more colour. It's much easier that way haha and using brushes for blending like previously stated.

The Stila #5 is L*O*V*E!

I use a sponge tip to get a dense application of color along the inner eye and for precise blending. However, for us older girls who are closer to thirty than twenty (ugh), the sponge tip tugs at the lid and can make your eye look crepey.

Older? Bah humbug! Spare a thought for us fossils who are nearer 40 than 30! I've never been a real sponge applicator fan so haven't used any for years and we didn't use them at all on the M·A·C professional makeup artistry course regardless of how youthful or decrepit we were! I do have concerns about the ease of cleaning sponge applicators too particularly as I use my brushes for lots of different people.

I haven't really used sponge brushes for years. I use the 242 brush to apply color to the lid and pat it on.
