Budding Beauty: Trial Run #1 (any help would be great!)

On a whim I bought Budding Beauty (yay GST return!) and it's been sitting amongst my other shadows for a week, so I decided to give it a go today. I ended up building it up much more than I intended and scared my husband, cuz I don't usually go this bold.

It doesn't look too bold here cuz I think the flash faded it out. =T

I can't say I love it, but it's not THAT bad...any constructive criticism on what I've done would be wonderful! Please excuse the greasies, unfilled unruly brows and the bumpy forehead, they're workin' themselves out. =P Thanks everyone!

...and cuz I can't pose anyway...my left eye always makes me look crazy or doped up!

What I used:

Face:
Studio Fix foundation in NC35
Select Moisturecover concealer in NC35

Cheeks:
Budding Beauty e/s
Petticoat MSF

Eyes (in order of application):
UD Potion Primer
Shade f/l on top lashline
Shimmermint s/s on top of Shade and above lashline, and on lower lashline
Aquadisiac e/s on top of Shimmermint along lower lashline
Maybelline Full 'n' Soft mascara in black brown on top lashes
Maybelline Unstoppable in ...black brown? on top lashes
Maybelline Volum'Express in black brown on bottom lashes (I "raccoon" less somehow..)
Budding Beauty e/s on lid, concentrating on inner corner/lid and fading on outer half of lid
Honesty e/s on brow bone and in crease
Pink Opal pigment over Honesty, on inner corner and to highlight
Hypnotique e/s on top of Shimmermint above lashline lightly blended into Budding Beauty (which faded...*sigh*)

Lips (had it on earlier today but wore off and I'm too lazy to slap some back on):
Heartfelt Pink lipglass
Budding lustreglass

Thanks again!

I think this suits your skintone beautifully. I tried Budding Beauty unsuccessfully. IMO, it's one of those colors that either looks great on you or awful...on you, it looks great!

Thanks, that's kind of you to say! FYI, I just tried it w/ Vex overtop to tone it down some, not sure of what would happen, and got a nice irridescence that's definitely wearable! It almost looks like one of the Sweetie Cake quad e/s, Almond Icing I think, which I first thought looked like Vex w/ just a bit of pink anyway.

So don't give up on Budding Beauty, try it w/ Vex somehow and it might work out! I'm going to try it tomorrow w/ Vex on the inner lid and Budding Beauty on the outer.

Thanks for the comments everyone! If you have any thoughts on how I can work Budding Beauty out a bit better, do let me know!

Btw, theleopardcake, I like using this more than Rose pigment, even tho it's a brighter pink. It's more the formula than anything - BB starts off sheerer so it's easier to build-up or do a wash - but I like Rose for its edgier look...just in case you wanted to experiment with BB, those are my two cents.

ooh, unfortunately, i have neither rose pigment nor budding beauty e/s. hah, but i think rose pigment is more versatile and the color is just so amazing! thanks for your input though. I really appreciate it :)
