cake Eyeliners

Hi

I've recently saw some reviews/ recommendations for cake eyeliners and was wondering if anyone on here uses them? How do they hold up (especially on waterline)

And what brands do you recommend? I know La Femme makes one, has anyone found any other brands/

TIA

I only use cake eyeliner for my lid. But, it's water-activated, so I don't use it on my waterline. You would have to dry your waterline, it would need time to dry...etc...too much I would want to do and I don't think it would hold up as well. But, anyway, I use Benefit's Babecake and MUFE's mostly.

Laura Geller carries a line of them in really fun vibrant colors plus there's two colors in one compact and Illamasqua carries a nice one. I feel like I don't get the intense pigmentation with cake liners vs. gel or liquid though.

I tried a Ben Nye one in black and one in eggplant with some mineral mixing medium drops. ...Didn't do much for me. It just doesn't have the staying power I need. Granted, I can make the thinnest, sharpest black line along my lashline, but I rarely ever do because of the possibility that one little bit will wear off unevenly. Though I am very curious about Laura Mercier's famous one to tightline. I'm skeptical it's all it's cracked up to be, though.

I love the Laura Geller cake eyeliners. I usually apply them wet, let that dry, then go over it again with a dry brush using the same liner. Great pigmentation and lasts a long time. I also get much better precision compared to liquid or gel.

Cake eyeliners are great, But as a alternative I use macs carbon eyeshadow with the slanted eyeliner brush it works the same as black cake eyeliner

i think i'll just go ahead and get some la femme ones when i get round to ordering - might try some non black ones.

For mixing mediums can use things like eye drops as a substitution? are they really worth it?
