A friend of mine is going to London with me, and he would like to buy an iPhone 3Gs while we're there. But is it possible to buy an unlocked iPhone 3Gs in the UK?

well you could buy the iphone as a pay as you go phone on a certain mobile operater (o2, orange for example) then i believe you can take them to market stalls and you can pay to have them unlocked. or at least you can do that with a normal phone. not too sure about the iphone though.
