Can you reccomend a MAC foundation for me?

I have been using Studio Fix powder foundation forever, but I would really like to try a liquid og cream foundation. The powder foundation is so handy, but it rubs off. Unfortunately. So I'm thinking I'll use a regular foundation at home, and then take my beloved Studio Fix powder with me on the go.

But which MAC foundation should I choose?

I'm NC25
I have have mixed skin. Dry cheeks, and oily t-zone with occasional breakouts but not many.
I need something that will stay put. I tend to rub my face and mess up my foundation.
I would like a semi-matte medium coverage, which will cover my discoulourations, but nok look too heavy. And which will matten my oily t-zone but not make me look too powdery.

What to try, what to try?

I would look into Studio Fix fluid, applied with a light hand. The wear on this is excellent and it seems like it has the attributes you are looking for. Try sampling it before you purchase.

Gonna echo the others and say Studio Fix Fluid. But if it weren't for the fact that you are specifically asking for a MAC foundation, I don't think I'd recommend it for anyone.... I've seen them do so much damage to people's skin. Hope you have better luck.

Teex does have a valid point - MAC foundations can wreak havoc for some people (myself included, I cannot wear them).

That being said, MAC foundations work wonderfully for a lot of people - which is why I think you should sample and do a "test drive" to make sure the foundation you choose meets your needs and also is compatible with your skin.

MAC foundations break many people out, myself included. But many people wear them with no issue - everyone's skin is different.

If you can wear the Studio Fix powder without issues than I would at least test the Studio Fix fluid or Studio Sculpt.

They cause break outs, irritation ect. Read post somewhere about a girl who had terrible luck with a MAC foundation. She had normal skin, rarely broke out, tried the MAC foundation, loved it, bought it. Used it for a few weeks or so, then all of a sudden, it broke her out. Gave her cystic acne, blocked her pores, the whole package. Left scars afterward.

I have pretty durable skin myself (7 month course of Accutane), rarely get breakouts or clogged pores, yet Fix Fluid sometimes manages this.... No other product does...

I have tried the Studio Fix Fluid now, I got testers samples of every single liquid MAC foundation yesterday :-D

I LOVE the lasting power of the liquid studio fix. But I find it cakes on the oilier arears of my face.

What would you girls suggest? Would one of the others work better? Or can I do something else with the studio fix?

I used a 190 brush if that is of any importance.

Did you use the SFF in conjunction with any powder or primer? I find it works amazing together with Prep + Prime finishing powder as it mattifies a lot but isn't drying.

The Prep + Prime SPF50, or even better, the Skin Refined Zone treatment (which is my fave for mattifying purposes), are also mattifying so I'd go for that as a base, especially in the T-zone.

No I didn't. I need to go see them, I don't have any of them, but have actually been considering it.

I think I have made it really work now. The other day I used the 190 which was a mess. But a moment ago I used the duo fiber brush and WOW that worked excellent!

Sooo I think I will go for the SFF, I really like the finish and lasting power of it. But have to see it in daylight first tomorrow.

I am coming down wednesday to try. Are you there then?
