Hi guys! Another forum I post on, LushiousBeautyTalk, was having a Spring 2008 contest. I got inspired by gradens in English style, wich I love and are so pretty this time of year: all sorts of different flowers and plants, so many different shapes and colours, yet there is a unity in the choas of pretty-ness
This was what I wanted to portray with my MU: fresh and lively colours, not tightly or clean, but cheerful and airy! I really go over the top with this look because I had to go outside wearing it
I kept the eyelids kind of neutral looking with a peachy-pink glimmer (MAC Lily White p/g) to place the focus on the yellow crease, wich is getting lighter towards the brows to achieve a highlighting effect. (DA 016 e/s, MAC Going Bananas, GOSH TR10 Ocean Drive) To accentuate the eyeshape and give the look a warmer feel I applied and orange e/s (MAC Fab & Flashy) near the outer corner, slighty on the lid and crease. Starting on the lower lashline a grassgreen colour(MAC Wondergrass) is pulled up towards the crease, where the green and yellow meet they are blenden with a softer green e/s (GOSH TR10 Ocean Drive). To really make the green pop I used an green liquidliner(GOSH Extreme Art Eyeliner 12). In contrast with the green and yellow a lilac colour (MAC Beautiful Iris) is applied in the inner corners.
To define the lashes I used a black-green pencil(MAC Mystery kp) on the upper waterline and a thin black line (MAC Blacktrack f/l) as close to the lashes as possible, to not destract from the colours. I finished of with a lenghting mascara (MaxFactor Masterpiece) instead of a volumizing one, to keep everything airy. Plus a white line (MAC Fascinating e/k) on the waterline to make everything a bit fresher!
The aubergine/burgandy coloured (MAC Signed, Sealed) brows compliment the green.
The lips are glossy and fruity, from raspberry pink (YR Rose Sable l/s, YR Deligloss Rose Grenadine) in the corners to a more coral look (MAC Costa Chic l/s, MAC Slicked Pink gelee) in the center. To match the eyes a yellow eyeshadow (MAC Going Bananas) was used as a highlight.
Softly pink cheeks with a golden/bronze shine (Pearl-ex Pink Gold, MAC Warmed MSF) contribute to the fresh feel of the look. The entire face has a healthy glow(MAC Strobe Liquid).
I'm really excited about this look, it really turned out the way I imagined it!
Can't wait till tonight to find out who won, right now I'm a few votes a head....
but the other entrees were stunning!
Thanks everyone for having a look, I'd love to hear your thoughts and comments!!
