Has anyone tried these products? Could you use Chromacakes on the eyes? Would Paint Sticks crease? Could you mix Paint Stick with Lipmix? For the Lipmix's, do you mix a color with say the White Frost? And does it work well mixing the Lipmix's with Gloss? I knooow this is a ton of questions, but there's no Pro store here, or else I'd have a field day figuring this all out myself.

Also, if anyone knows the prices of these off the top of your head could you please tell me? I hate how the Pro site doesn't list prices.

You might be able to mix paint stick with Lipmix but it will end up very gloopy as Lipmix is quite thick to start with. I'm not sure why you'd want to though as armed with a tube of red, blue, yellow, white and black lipmix you can create any standard colour (we had to do this on the M·A·C course I was on to create a colour match to our own skin). The lipmixes can be mixed with each other to create different finishes and they will mix with Gloss too. They're not the sort of product you want to use around the eyes or on other parts of the face as they are a bit heavy but are great for their intended use on the lips.

I've not played with Paint Sticks but the formulation gives a slight satin finish on the skin and its longevity can be increased by using a translucenty setting powder.

I've only played with White Chroma Cake and when used with water it tended to crease badly. The M·A·C PRO site does recommend using it with Face & Body mixing medium rather than water for smoother application but I haven't tried that yet. The opacity is good but it's not the sort of product you'd use for beauty make-up, rather fantasy designs and body painting.

So if you mix a colored Lipmix with a basic pearl one, would it make it a lipstick texture or more of a gloss?
Thanks for your help!

Just updated my original post so you may want to read what I've added.

Lipmixes are generally matte so adding a frost lipmix will give you a satin texture and adding a gloss will give you the full gloss effect. Hope this helps

paintsticks are neat. i want to get more soon. i only have one in cool pink. but i want landscape green, true chartreuse, and basic red. its a stick that is very creamy textured. you can use it as a base but it is really creamy so it may crease. but i tend to use it on cheeks and lips to to highlight here and there. also if you are into masks or face painting im sure they come in handy there.

I've wanted the cool pink paintstick for ages but have never called to order it. I LOVE all girl, pink opal and kitchmas pigment and thought the cool pink paintstick would look good with those colors. Have you tried it with pigments and would you let me know if it creases? Thanks!

i havent tried it on the eyes yet... hmmm im thinking if you just put it on the lower lid area and packed on pigment over it, it should be fine.

ChromaCakes are MACs version of standard theatrical pancake makeup. Paint Sticks are their take on standard theatrical greasepaint. That said, they tend to act much like their standard counterparts, if not a bit chalkier.

ChromaCakes and Paint Sticks follow the same usage precautions as the PRO pigments of the same shade names, so while you may be able to use some of them in the eye or lip area, not all will work well in these areas.

Lip Mix has a very similar texture to the old Lac Lustre creme lipsticks. They are a soft matte lipstick. I find that they tend to feather badly, and are extremely drying. I rarely use them on myself or clients unless I absolutely must.

i personally adore paintsticks! so creamy, you don't need a lot, and stays on for a longer time if you put them over paints. they make the colors pop like crazy! I love them!
